[American Motorcyclist Association] - Indian Motorcycle demo rides are big draw

AMA member Mike Leber came down from Norwalk, Ohio, early Saturday just to try out the new Indian Motorcycle models.

“I’ve come to this event before, but this year I came because of the Indians,” Leber says.

Leber is one of dozens lined up Saturday morning for ride on one of the 18 Indian models available for demos at BikeBandit.com AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days, featuring Indian Motorcycle, at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course near Lexington, Ohio.

“The crowd has really embraced the Indians,” says Chris Vallie, Indian Motorcycles demo truck operator. “We take them on a 12- to 15-mile ride out around the reservoir and back. The route includes all types of riding.”

The team brought four Indian Classics, six Indian Vintage and six Indian Chieftan models to AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days this year.

AMA member John Tople of Cincinnati, Ohio, comes to AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days every year.

“It’s great,” he says. “I have always wanted to ride an Indian. I have ridden all sorts of other bikes, but never an Indian. This is my chance.”
