Wheel bearing quality
Might have to buy new bearings for the front and rear wheels.
Should I go with the OEM ones or the ones from All Balls Racing could be a good choice? Anyone tried them or has an opinion on that matter? The reason is, the All Balls kits come with the bearings and the seals and they are quite affordable. I searched a bit but couldn't find information on it... Thanks |

I would go with the All Balls Racing set just because of price. I've never seen the OEM ones fail, though.

Yeah,
I know old3 use All Balls tapered bearings for his steering ones. I was just looking for information or recommendations for wheel bearings. If I can get the same quality for a fraction of the price, It would be great. |

A bike built in 2011 should have all the bearings in like-new condition. I would check what problem is causing that premature wear. Their normal enemies are water intrusion, short separator and incorrect installation. Use heat to remove the old ones and also to install the new ones. A new bearing that is dancing in its aluminum cavity is not good. Please, read these articles: http://www.skf.com/group/products/be...ore/index.html http://www.skf.com/group/products/be...ore/index.html http://www.dansmc.com/wheelbearing.htm

Thanks Hernan,
My ninjette bearings are real fine, and no doubt in like-new condition. I'm gathering informations and costs about an extra set of wheels. Thanks all for your input. |

I'd look for a bearing supply house and ask for their premium bearings in your size. They should have the seals too. Check the yellow pages in your area. I have a shop a few miles from home I'd have never found without the phone book. I use them all the time for wheel and suspension bearings. It is usually standard stuff. The Ninja WB is standard for sure.
A fellow with a 300 had a WB fail early on, probably just a fluke as there hasn't been a series of complaints. I enjoy the steering bearing jokes now. Good fun despite another forum user here commenting the other day about the "normal hands off ninjette steering wobble between 50-40 MPH". Lots of riders seem to be happily wobbling about on these bikes thinking it is perfectly normal. OK with me. Mine is fixed! |

That could be a good idea, Old3.
I know a place of that kind, I'll asked them if they know the size needed for our little Ninja. I don't plan to take mine off (I guess I won't be able to put them back after). I don't think anybody has the dimensions somewhere though. Found a thread about wheel bearing sizes... http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=123944 Last futzed with by broken neck; January 17th, 2014 at 09:27 AM. |

You just need the commonly used numbers listed in that thread you linked, 6202, 6203. Standard bearings sizes, any bearing house should have them. I ask for the best quality as they usually have a few grades to choose from within a buck or three. They usually recommend Japanese or German made ones depending on the size and their stock availability.
After knocking them out you should discard them. You can just bring them with you to show the counter guy. |

I called to the bearing store and they sell SKF, which should be fine, all in stock too. I'll just try to get or to find the seal sizes.
Then it's gonna be "Tiguidou", as we could say in québécois... |

It is possible that "tiguidou" derives from the English expression "tickety-boo", which has essentially the same meaning - everything is just fine or going as planned. Although heard most often in Canada, it is thought to be of British origin. There is a Scottish children's song called "Everything is Tickety-boo". Another hypothesis is that it derives from the Hindee expression "Tickee babu" (everything is alright sir") and made its way to the UK via the British army. |

Thanks allanoue for the lesson...
I'll surely keep it in mind when my coworker will say Tiguidou... If there's one word I never thought could be from the English, this was one of them... |
