Rear Brake-light Flasher for Ninja 300
This is a very abbreviated DIY, so I'll try hard not to forget any steps:
Big thanks to Tri to getting me all set up this afternoon. The as of yet unmolested 300: Tri gets to work, and quickly realizes that more of the bike will need to come apart: I hope we remember where everything goes! A naked rear end: Where he was able to hide it; it's the black box on the left with writing on it mostly hidden under the metal seat support: Getting it back together: Helping me reroute the wiring for my GPS & heated gear, so it fits better under the fairings: When I first arrived, I had to share Tri's skills with @SSANGHA , who was having an integrated taillight installed. Good chatting with you both today! Oh - Tri compared our front brake calipers, and he's pretty convinced that I'll be able to use identical pads on the new 300, and he even lent me a new set of EBC HH's to try out. I'll try and get them on when I have some daylight in the garage, and confirm that they are interchangeable.

Good times Alex! It was cool to dig into the 300 and see how much neater the wiring system is. It looks like they took some time to make everything pretty on the inside. That did make things a bit more challenging to work with though.

Because I wouldn't want to cause accidents when people see that cod piece. :lol
. I'm actually out of stock, but they're on order. Should be arriving in the next two weeks. Incidentally, if you find someone that can help you (one of your friends with bikes?), you could swap one of your rear signals we pulled off and use it for the broken one for now.

Love the closeup of him turning the wrench... looks like it's moving fast... lol.
Hey, I tried a few brake modulators with poor results, but I really like this one... http://www.ebay.com/itm/261034810174...t_1396&afsrc=1 I did cut and solder my wires, covered them with heat shrink.

Yes, the stock pads aren't great; the stock ones on the '08-'12 were much better. After looking at the calipers, Tri thinks the pads might be interchangeable, so I'm going to give it a shot with a common upgraded pad for the new-gens (EBC FA197HH). If it fits, the braking performance for the 300 should once again be identical to that of the new-gen bikes.

I know, but then I'd be tempted to work in the garage after dark. And no good comes from that.

Haha. A 300 with HH brakes would come from that

I forget but the non-ABS 300s have the "organic" resin brake pads? Hopefully you can do a photoshoot as well when you change out your pads
