she hesitates at 9k rpm

I've noticed that my bike hesitates everytime I reach 9k rpm. Keeps surging from 9-10k. As soon as I pass 10k she's back to normal.
Any ideas?

how did this develop? Was it after you modified the "air system", intake/exhaust? Did you shim the carbs? Or did it just start happening out of the blue?

I have an 09 zx6r. The only mod I have on the bike is a slip-on. I didn't really go pass 8k on my stock exhaust so I'm not sure if the slip-on is causing the surging.

I would guess the zx-6r since he sold the 250 to upgrade.

lol good point....

That's fuel injected related insanity then. It could be anything from a faulty sensor to a lean running condition due to your mod. Best to take it into someone who knows what to look for.

I <3 carbs btw

Ditto, have the shop throw it on their computer. Enjoy your FI!

Oh yea, and good luck getting it fixed!

I'm having a similar problem with my '10 250. it doesn't happen all the time, just sometimes when you roll on the throttle there's a little hesitation around 9 grand. The bike is factory as far as intake and exhaust go, and I haven't shimmed the needles (altho I want to). I just did it's 5k oil change and switched it over to full synthetic hoping that would remedy the problem, but it's still doing it.

any thoughts?

I think I might have been experiencing that as well at those revs, though my bike stopped doing it for now. Though in my case it seems like a dip in power at that point and I am simply holding the throttle at half or WOT. So...any ideas on that
