where do you get your Stainless steel tubing?

So where you get it? local? online? Anyone have a hook up?

so far best deals have been here but does anyone know anywhere else?

For some context...

Im working on a custom exhaust for my 636. It will be similar to the pinebox, but I dont feel like paying $400 for that exhaust and waiting 6 months. So im just gonna make one. And sell one to @Kevin2109 and hopefully others will want it so I can pay for the materials and get my fabricator some cash too..

local metal supply depot. they usually will have new and old stuff. its nice to grab some old stuff to prototype and experiment with then use the nice new stuff to make a final piece.

welding moly or any steel is a lot easier than aluminum. aluminum is soft and so you have to either tig weld or use a spool gun if you want to mig weld aluminum. but aluminum is very light weight. working with and cutting aluminum is amazingly easy compared to steel.

you could design the piece in 3d and print out the tube in slices on 2d sheet metal then roll them all up and weld them all together. that makes the cool motogp style exhausts.

Boatyards tend to stock a lot of stainless.

I'd say stainless, bending it is no problems with a pipe bender, maybe even a harley customs shop could help you out as they tend to make a lot of pipes.

The spool gun has the spool literally as a part of the handle, hence the name. With mig welders for steel the spool is in the box. It is easy to push the steel wire through the leads without getting kinks, not so much with the softer aluminum. Also the aluminum needs to be clean. Running it through the same liner in the leads as the steel wire is asking for contamination and crappy welds.

shipping was only $5... still cheaper than some places.. idk if I can do it all minus the tips with one J, but Paul thinks we can. We will see. Be cool to knock this bitch out. Ill need to sell at least one or two to recover costs and get Paul some cash for being a G, and making the first one for me for free.. lol

I may be interested but you would have to somehow beat the sound of my yoshi. I have been looking for something a little different though, I kinda like that raw subtle raspy sound, I dont get that out of my Yoshi

i like the looks, and from the video it sounds pretty good.
the $400 seems steep, but the guy isn't mass producing them...

maybe people like the rarity of them.

In order to even make somewhat of a profit we will have to charge AT LEAST $300.
