Would 300 headers be a good swap?

Was wondering if anyone might have some insight on this. It would be an easy swap to do and the 300 headers are larger in diameter so I might see a very slight power gain with my leo vince gp corsa slip on.

Thoughts???

I think it would give a slight gain...does the end can made to fit 250 headers fit the 300 ones though?

Yes the 250 and 300 exhaust cans fit the same. The difference on the 300 was just the exhaust bracket.

then I suggest you give it a try if the price is low! might not make a huge difference but 300 headers have improved flow to the 2fiddy's...

I just might do it. I can get a used pair of 300 headers cheap and it might be a better option money wise then aftermarket headers. I had an option for a 300 full exhaust system used a while back but let it go as I thought it wouldn't work at the time. I wonder if anyone else has ever tried putting a full aftermarket 300 exhaust on a 250? Never came across anything in my searches.

inner diameters are same for aftermarket systems (I know that as a fact for the yoshi r77 system and the Leo Vince) -apart from few exceptions- the routing and length (extra length on 300 for more low end torque) is different however because of the 300's shape of the oil pan...
the 250 engine has room for any routing though because the lower case is more shallow and flat

So if I went with a 300 oem header or a 300 aftermarket header for routing either one would be fine?

well, challenging rather to say at least ! forgot all about the filter and oil drain position... you need to test on the bike to see wether it is worth fitting them... and that is of course for aftermarket system only...

when I had a stock can from a 300 on my 250 header, I had to use exhaust gasket material to take up the slack. the 300 can has a slightly larger diameter for exhaust inlet vs. 250. not a big deal. but not quite a plug-n-play thing.

Thanks for the pics it helps with figuring out what route to take. I agree changing the oil looks like it would be a bit tricky with the oem 300 header. The Leo Vince gp corsa full exhaust off a 300 looks like it might fit better. I wish they still sold it for the 250 as a full system. I have the gp corsa slip on for my 250 and I think it would match up with a 300 header.

Thanks for the heads up but I have someone locally willing to sell the headers to me. My only problem is I just have to find the time and get them.

The 300 system is waay better flowing than the 250's. Stock it sounds MUCH better too.
