New DIY - Getting NAKED
I haven't seen a DIY for removing fairings in quite some time, although I believe Kelly did one over at KF sometime last year.
Although most users here probably already know how to get naked, I remember scouring the Internet as a newbie looking for detailed instructions. While I was installing my new headlight modulator the other day, I took LOTS of extra pics to do an additional detailed "getting naked DIY".... and here it is: http://www.ninjette.org/wiki/DIY_Fairing_Removal EDIT: Oh , I just found Kelly's DIY on this site too, and its darn good.... I guess I could have spent my evening in worse ways. Well, now we have a WIKI version too. |

Ah this reminds me of how im missing the plastic rivets for where the side cowlings meet on the bottom. Had to use zip ties.

noche calient - that is a good idea. Send me a link.
Nickds7 - Yes, my bike is familiar with zip-ties too.... mostly to route all the wires I put on for gadgets. I ordered extra bolts and rivets, and find that I do occasionally need them. I just wait until I am ordering larger items since shipping is unreasonable for ordering a couple of screws. |
