Wheel Bearings: Identical to 250!
Hey folks,
Just wondering if the front and rear wheel ball bearings are similar to the 250s? Quote:

Ok so I just measured my 250s bearing and they're 15mm ID x 35mm OD x 11mm thick. So it sound like they're identical.

250 only have the seal on one side and it should be the same as for the other side the 250 uses the wheel speed hub spacer doohickey as a dust seal.

Bicycle shop owner in town seems to hate ceramic bearings becuase he says there service life under shock load sucks. He says in the cranks they are great but in the wheels they tend to fracture and fail sooner then steel. I can't say if this is true but something to look into and be weary of since the load on a motorcycle is much greater.
The more something spins the greater effect upgrading to ceramic will have, example steering head upgrade is pretty pointless. I wonder how ceramic would fair as crank bearings? |
