I don't believe this is backward compatible.
Only the 40gb and those early 60gb are. |

im sorry dude it's not backwards compatible. if you meet half way i'll drop it down to $375 cash in hand that is the lowest i'll go. this is one of the newer ones. got it in january right after xmas

On another note, all PS3s can emulate PSX games (part of being able to sell them as PSN downloads) and, therefore, also support original PSX game discs. I guess there is an element of backwards compatibility to them all.
