sluggish acceleration
i was riding tonight when i noticed my acceleration started going in and out as if i was running out of gas. when i got home i realized i had just gotten gas and my tank was more than halfway full.
last time i gassed up was friday (it's currently monday night) and it was raining the past 2 days. it was suggested that either something was in my tank and is clogging something or rain got in my tank and is messing with the gas. i thought maybe something was just acting up and i tried to test ride it about 20 minutes ago and the problem got even worse. any suggestions or walkthroughs on how to trouble shoot/fix the suggested errors? edit: if it helps at all, the carbs were cleaned very recently. obviously before i put gas in but within 2 months i believe. |

raining the past two days. Gas is less dense than water, so it 'floats' on top.
therefore water drains to the bottom. Drain your carb bowls to get any water out of them. Then try again. |

thank you. tried to no avail and the bike was running worse this morning. when in neutral it doesn't even rev past 3k, so it was suggested i clean the carbs.
after a long process i finally pulled them out and cleaned it. there wasn't a lot of rust or anything since they were recently cleaned but i think something was in the gas tank. a little black flake fell through one of the jet holes and was big enough to block. i'm hoping that was the problem, but i can't put it back in yet. now i've got a bigger problem, one of the collars somehow fell out. i have no idea how, but it fell out when i was cleaning. i got hold of an old carb but the collar is not coming out, any ideas? |

You sure it's not still in there mine won't come out even when I tip it over usually.
