2010 and earlier, drainable oil filter cover.......

Not sure where this should be posted (and I might be breaking rules based on my lack of number of posts and being a member here??), but thought I would throw this "item" out there to the Kawi Masses (not just 250, but MANY Kawi bikes). I belong to the ZRX forum and we have a member who owns a metal fabrication shop, in Arizona....www.sparkesmetalcrafters.com.....making mainly sheet metal signage (very patriotic signs). But, Scott Stites has LOTS of metal fabricating state-of-the-art equipment and has produced many ZRX related custom bits. His bike-related side business is "PulsePerformanceParts.com" (FB page is https://www.facebook.com/PulsePerformanceParts/). Unfortunately the Performance website does does show all his parts.....not sure if it is just new or what, so I will copy and paste from the ZRXOA forum........the custom machined oil filter cover with a drain plug added. Why didn't Kawi do this from day one.....to help take the "mess" out of oil filter changes!! This filter cover replaces Kawi part # 14025-1422 which is used on 250-1200cc Kawi bikes. Search the part number on Cheap Cycle Parts to see where it is used and you will see what I mean. Ok......from the ZRXOA forum:

CNC Machined Oil Filter Covers w/Drain Plug $52.50 Shipped
Ok guys here it is, please send a thanks to Stumack as he was the one that gave me the idea of making these.

So $52.50 shipped in the US and $73 for international shipments. PayPal address is pulseperformanceparts@gmail.com

Your purchase includes the oil filter cover, M8 x 1.25 stainless threaded insert installed in the drain hole to prevent stripping from frequent use, one M8 x 1.25 stainless bolt/drain plug and two copper M8 crush washers.

Replacement crush washers can be bought with links listed at the bottom of the add.

If you would like to buy the crush washers from me after you use your first two I will sell them 5 for $3.00 shipped. Thanks for the idea Kwick.

If you want to use aluminum crush washers the link is listed below.

And finally and the most important (thanks again Kwick) you MUST replace the copper crush washer at every oil change to ensure proper seal of the drain bolt to the cover. And you MUST torque the bolt to 10-12 ft lbs of torque during installation with a torque wrench after each use. Taking these two easy and inexpensive measures take no more time and can prevent a whole mess of issues and problems.

Once again thanks for supporting me and allowing to make parts for your beloved ZRX!

No affiliation with this vendor..........

I forgot to add, I have NO affiliation with Scott Stites other than I haved owned (9) ZRX's over the years and I ordered a NICE Fireman's Sheet Metal Sign two years ago for a buddy retiring from Firefighting. I was PROUD of that sign, top notch work, American Owned and Operated.....and Scott is a Vet himself.
