kenda!

just got a new kenda k671 put on the front of my bike and this tire is absolutely amazing compared to stock,it feels like it's sucking you into the corner....definitely worth getting when replacement time comes around.

I just put a set on this week and I'm very happy. I'm going easy on them until the new is worn off...

I got them on my bike for under $200 total.

I put a set on last Sunday. Can't really tell the difference from stock. Hopefully they last longer, got 5300 miles out of stock Dunlops (fiber showing through). Paid $124, free shipping.

I got over 26K miles out of my first front one, still on the second with 35K miles on the bike and looks new. Rears seem to be lasting around 15-18K so far. I run my pressure 2-3 psi higher than stock.

Last futzed with by FrugalNinja250; October 13th, 2011 at 08:22 PM. Reason: correct mileage

15-16k sound great. I usually get that on my Vulcan 500 with Dunlops 404 so Iw was surprised to see fibers at 5300 miles on Ninja. Thats only two months of riding for me.

I'm running a set of these on my '04. They've been great so far and I really like the 90-series on the front. The bike is much more stable at higher speeds.

Been running the K671's front and rear for 3K miles. I love em! Haven't felt any slippage yet and I ride my bike pretty damn hard!

Does anybody know the correct pressure for these Kenda tires used in a 2007 Ninja 250?

Not really a "correct" pressure per se. Stock pressures are 28F/32R, but I found that mine rides better and the tires seem to last longer with my pressures bumped up 2psi each end, to 30F/34R

Yep, these are pretty good tires. I've ran a few sets of these tires on my '89 Ninja 250, now with 71k+ miles on it. I also add a few more psi than Kawasaki's suggestions. These are sticky enough, work good on wet or dry roads, and last quite a while miles also. While they're not the best in any of these areas, they're also not the most expensive either.

This is probably the first time I've ever seen people excited about Kenda tires. Do they really have any advantages over Pirellis or something well respected like that?

I think I paid about 150 for the set of pirellis...how much cheaper are these? I now run a Shinko rear...$58 each.

The word "advantage " is all relative here. It all depends on what you want from a tire. If you're dragging knees on the track and around town, then the Pirellis or some other performance tire would be best for you. If you're just riding like a mere mortal and doing high mileage commuting and long trips, then the Kendas are great. They won't grip like a sport tire because they're touring tires with a totally different mission profile. Most people most of the time on most bikes never actually push their tires to the limit, so most of the time the supersport tires are actually just wasted.

As a person who has no interest in getting on a track and someone who puts on average 13,000 miles a year on my bike, I have no interest in tires that are worn out at a mere 5-6K miles.

I agree with that.
That's why when I'm not doing track days, I run one of these...$54, lasts 12,000 miles, and grips fantastically.

Is that about comparable with the Kenda? I haven't run a Kenda tire in years, and no one was ever raving about their tires back then. I'm guessing they've stepped up their quality a bit?

I don't know about grip, but I haven't had any problems with my Kendas regardless of weather, including thunderstorms. I've not had one last less than 18K miles rear and I got over 23K off the front.

Here is Kenda's response to my previous question:

"We always recommend you go with what your owner’s manual lists. Use that as a baseline setting. From there you simply add pressure one pound at a time if you have more than an average load.

Hope this helps-

I'm going to be getting a new set of tires before the riding season here, what are the best deals on Kendas? I'd love to get a set.

I've been getting them off ebay. Since they last so long i've only bought two fronts and three rears in the last 35k miles and the third rear is in storage waiting for the current one to wear out someday.
