It's a date, just not a date date.

Still an interesting development out of this thread.

Does CSS cover breaking (trail or not) in L3/4? Sonoma is a great track.

I better not see this play out on the next Cheaters.

Braking is level... 2, now, I think? I hope we never cover breaking!

Level 4 is literally anything and everything. So if I wanna cover it, or need to, it gets covered.

And it won't be on Cheaters.
1. It's not, as said, a "date date"
2. I move slooooooooow in relationships, so even if it were nothing would happen
3. my partner and I have better communication than that, so even if we get past those you'd still not have a cheating scenario

Idle thought: I think society needs to be more open to platonic dates or friend dates or whatever. Be nice to overhear someone talking about awesome stuff and find a way of saying "you sound cool, I want to be your friend! Can we go hang out and see if that's possible?" Or something.

Too often asking someone out implies interest in a physical or romantic relationship.

I just call it hanging out if it's not a romantic date haha. No encouragement of cheating from me; I am entirely uninterested if someone is in an existing relationship.

I pulled out my L1/2 notes and there's nothing about braking. I guess it's been tweaked since then.

I thought it was well established that Cheaters is staged.

Yes, braking was put into L2 I think. The drill is called "Brake Release". The program has definitely changed over the years! I had an ex-CSS coach work with me at my last track day and there were lessons/vocab he didn't know which enlightened me on how the program has changed over the years.

I thought it replaced 2 step but then remembered 2 step is level 1 :P I'm not sure what they swapped around to be honest. >.<

My best friend is a woman and we get people thinking we're a couple alllllll the time, or people implying we should be. It's dumb.

I also agree on how more platonic stuff should be the norm. I've given a "I'm seeing someone/No thank you, but we can hang out and be friends if that's okay," to a lot of people, but I've gained zero meaningful relationships from it.

Sad news, the person I was going with ended up with some bad medical issues and we're having to cancel CSS

I thought you were talking about going to watch the lesbians until I saw the word "Race".

As for Lesbian riders, I can think of 12 women riders I know, only 2 are lesbians (at least that I know of). The two that are lesbians are a married couple. Most of the women riders are wives of other people I ride with. Only a couple are single women.

Thinking of all the people I ride with I would say at least half of them their significant other won't even ride on the back of the bike. Of the ones that will ride on the back at least, I'd say a little less than half of them have their motorcycle license.

Female motorcycle riders are 14% of the rider population. When you remove the lesbians and married women from that number it really narrows the possibility of a single guy finding a woman that rides. If a guy is going to limit himself to only dating women that ride he will have a more difficult time finding a date. I think a single guy would have a better chance finding a woman that doesn't ride, but is not hostile to his riding and encouraging her to learn to ride.

Our first Ninja 250 was a "girlfriend" bike. 2004 with 250 mi on it. Boyfriend bought it new for her.

Looks like she dropped it in the driveway and decided to end her riding career right then. It last ran about 2005.

We bought it in 2012 and sold it last year.

So I'll just go over my purchase: my partner had been talking about wanting a scooter to get around, as she had no vehicle. I was pushing for something a bit bigger that would be highway legal (e.g. a 300). I decided to, for our anniversary, go ahead and buy it. So I bought it outright -- that white ninja is mine. The agreement was that the bike is mine, so if we break up, I keep it. But otherwise it's intended to be hers. If we break up, dedicated track bike time for Saturn. Otherwise, we have the option to go riding together. Though, as I think I've said already, she ended up feeling like the 300 was too tall for her and so she mostly uses my Z125 these days.

My wife would be real upset if I bought a motorcycle for my girlfriend.

And since my wife won't ride, She knows if I bought her a motorcycle it would just be another one for me.

We combined the Reference Points and Change lines briefing/session and added 3 second brake release later on in level 2.

To answer the original question, my fiance got into riding years after we started dating and then he got me into it about a year & half ago (right before I joined this forum) .. (we've been together for 10 years)

To answer this quote, he bought me a brand new Vulcan S last Christmas. It was a total surprise, I didn't give him the money.
HOWEVERRRR... he won't let me ride it until I get more practice on our 250
So I've only been able to ride MY Vulcan as a passenger
