Nah way, no supersports, those are for n00bs.

Damn that ain't gonna be cheap to fix. And I doubt there are many used parts out there for the n1k, so you are looking at mostly new crazy expensive parts. Could you tell if the forks were bent? I'm guessing they probably are considering the bike rear ended a car and the front fender is shattered.

I wonder if there was some sort of option to turn that off. Maybe it would be like, in options or something.

No no, must be too good to be true.

Let's play, what if its totaled!

If its totaled I'll get around $12,000 back. Question is, what to do with that?

Get another n1k? I love the engine on this bike, so much torque down low that it's effortless to accelerate. The bike is also comfy and looks sexy though the suspension is a little meh. If I got another 1000, I'd really want ABS on it. ABS isn't something to be relied upon but it definitely would have saved (or helped save/reduce damage and injuries) my butt. The only way to get ABS is to buy from another state and it has to have 7500mi on it. So I'd be looking at a used out of state n1k

Other options - category is Sport touring capable bikes

The V-strom is a damn nice bike. That is the most comfortable bike I have ever sat on. Only downsides are I wouldn't have that sexxxy i4 engine and its bigger than Unregistered's ass

Some kinda used sport touring beamer. Like the R1200 Alex sold, that would be a damn nice bike to have.

What else?

If it totals you might think about looking into a concourse, if you can find a good used one.

Sorry to hear about your crash. I've been wanting to try the Ninja 1000 after reading the good reviews. Other sport touring bikes I'd like to get some seat time on are Ducati's Multistrada, KTM's 990SMT, and the new Ducati Hyperstrada.

If you do get to try a ninja 1000 just know that if it has the stock tires on you will hate it. It can't corner for **** with those crappy bt016s.

I don't think I'd go for a ducati unless I had some real disposable income and KTM, oh I'd be far too tempted to get a duke 390 instead

I predict my next accident will be on Dec 1, 2013. Here is how I arrived to this conclusiong

Started riding June 2nd, 2011
Crashed April 2nd, 2012
Crashed Feb 1st, 2013

Based on the 10 month intervals between accidents I can safely state that the next accident will be Dec 1st, 2013 around 12:00pm

I'm probably more freaked out by his occurrence accidents and prediction of the next apocalypse...

Bummer about the ABS stuff...the dealer site give false hope then. Is it time to break that Kawasaki cycle then?

Hehe ty for the save...the dealer sites around me list 2013 ABS N1Ks in their new inventory tabs was what I was pointing at. Kinda hard to find the ergos/price for specs comparable to the N1K. The FZ1 probably isn't your cup of joe?

Some bikes do some bikes don't. The reason the n1k doesnt is because the emissions crap goes where the ABS would have gone

Lol "the fz1 is an upright r1" so it has the same race spec engine?

Probably an older spec R1 engine...so it'd probably make most of its power in the upper revs? Wonder if the rider's legs feel the heat on these guys

I'd be down to try the fz1. One of the things I really like about the n1k is all the low down torque. I rarely go over 4k rpms because its just so unnecessary. Always having that extra power on demand is fun and makes for a more relaxing ride. I'm a much less aggressive and slower rider on the n1k than on the 250 which is also the reason my n1k gets better mileage than my 250

New bike time!

BTW: I wasn't a big fan of the FZ1 (although it was one comfy MF). It runs like an R1 -- you really have to wring it's neck to get to the power. I felt like my Streety had more everyday torque than that thing did. So you may be disappointed, given what you like about the N1K. FWIW.

Haha. It's true. I wish it was because I had owned so many bikes; but alas, most of them were very short-term (like doing a demo, test-ride, or working at a rental shop for awhile). Most of the bikes that my shop rented were boring (Harleys and other cruisers, no interest), but we did have a couple BMW1200GSs in the fleet, a few Goldwings (I have to say, as much as I make fun of those, they are amazing bikes), and a few other random stuff that came through. But I also got to ride other Eaglerider bikes that came through, and some of them were fun. The FZ1 was one of them. Also rode an ST1300, which I liked a lot, and a Super Tenere (which was a HOOT). My favorite rides, though, were the Ducati Diavel (would never own one, but boy was it ridiculous) and the ZX14 (same thing). The ZX, especially, could have been a sport-tourer it was so comfortable. But open up the throttle and it was like sitting on a jet engine!

I would agree with that. I took one for a ride on a demo day. It was so overkill, but a great experience for me.

Yea dude it was nice, I'd cruise around in 6th gear at 30mph and still have more power than the 2fiddy. You shift up and never need to shift down till you stop. Very comfortable and very little vibration. And it wheelies at 4k too lol

Haha.
Well ill be relying on you for information about a new bike then! Thread to come later

I think I'll just let insurance take it since I may not get another n1k. They will give me the full $250 I paid

Crashed Feb 1st, 2013

Based on the 10 month intervals between accidents I can safely state that the next accident will be Dec 1st, 2013 around 12:00pm
Crashed more times than Windows 95. You gotta stop doing that.
