Make sure to check her out a bit more when you can -- don't let something like a bent wheel catch you off guard later on

I think she's just fine...crash happened in the first 30 or so miles, after bending the shiter somewhat straight I rode another 200 and all seemed well...

And guys no need to be sorry...I'm not. I laugh everytime I watch it.

Glad you're ok. You do realize gravel wasn't the main reason you went down right? It might have started it but you could've easily avoided that one. My guess is you target fixated and also freaked out by the bicyclist and just kept on going straight to the side of the road. There's no reason you couldn't have slowed down and turned it back to the correct side of the road.

I say that only cause it's nice to be able laugh at your crashes. As long as you learn from them.

Yea, first I fixated on the gravel thinking about avoiding it which was my main mistake, then I saw the bicyclist and had a feeling I'd be able to ride it off on the shoulder, but I'd plow right through him if I did, then I saw the ditch and said "**** it, brush off as much speed as you can..." Mind you all that happened in a split second. I'm glad I avoided major damage though, just the shifter and the fairing. My signal came off but stayed intact and I put it back on.

I'm glad you're okay. I'd also recommend stopping at stop signs. Your and your buddy's speed looked quite high to but I won't speculate.

One thing I learned from the MSF course is that a series of bad events are usually the cause of every crash, not just one event.

I believe your first mistake started around the 1:22 mark in the video. You apexed way too early in the turn, which set you up for having a sharper radius turn later on and a higher risk of running wide on the turn.

Like the analogy the MSF used, that was the first link in the chain, so if you hadn't apexed so early, I don't think any of the other bad events would have happened and you probably would not have crashed.

When a friend rolls up after incident laughing at you before anything else, you know you have a keeper

I think the only reason I invite friends to go dirt biking, is so I can sit there and laugh at their misfortune

Good to hear you weren't hurt and the bike wasn't to bad, best of luck in the remainder of you riding season.
