I've never gone 2-up but I do know you can push up the pressure on the tires quite a bit without any worry. I know the manual says 28 front and 32 rear... when I checked my tire pressure after taking it to the dealer for 600 mile service it was ~40 psi in the rear and maybe ~36 up front. When I asked them about it they said the tire wears less that way. Maybe true but I'm a believer in the manual, so I've switched back. My point is, you can go 5 or 6 psi extra without any worry.

I haven't done 2-up on the 250 either but it will probably depend on your weight + her weight and how it feels riding. I would say start at stock pressure for your baseline and then adjust up 2 lbs each as necessary based on how that feels.

Thanks for the feedback, I was thinking the same. I'll take her around the block and make adjustments if needed. She weighs 100lbs and 5' tall so her weight shouldnt change the handling up too much.

Took her out today for a couple hours, had a blast . Even hit 95mph on the interstate with her on the back. Went with 30psi in the front and 34psi in the rear.

Rather than messing around with the PSI, I think it better if you just adjust the rear suspension pre-load
edit: ignore my post...I just saw yours is a 07 Last futzed with by LoneRonin; April 14th, 2011 at 09:09 AM. |
