At first I just thought they were girl's jeans which usually cost about $500. Then I saw the name. These are Al Rokker's jeans that he shite himself in while at the White House. They are very collectible in a disgusting kind of way.

Actually, if you look how they legs bow out, they might be girl's jeans like I originally thought.

Yeah, uh no. You can get a good set of leather pants or a full touring suit for that much if not less.

Schoeller is the company, Denim-Dynatec is apparently the name they've given the fabric.

For reference, Schoeller is the same company who makes Keprotec, that stretchy, breathable, abrasion resistant material typically found in the insides of knees and elbow joints in race suits.

Race leathers are cooler than jeans. they look way more serious. Kinda like wearing spandex on a bicycle. Functional, goofy looking to some, but to someone who rides, it looks better than other clothing.

First ya say they're hot, then cool. Make up yer mind!

*I* know leathers are epic, you know they are, we all know leathers are the bomb! But to the market these jeans and hoodies are targeting, ie squids, we all know that they are allergic to leather.

Well, they're actually cooler (temp wise AND fashion-wise imho) than jeans while moving. When just sitting in traffic, everything makes you sweat

True story:

In about 1997 I was walking from the garage where I parked my bike to my office. I was wearing a red/silver Aerostich Roadcrafter suit and carrying my black/silver Shoei helmet.

Approaching me on the sidewalk was an urban "yout" dressed in the latest street fashion. Specifically:
  • Enormously baggy pants with the crotch at knee level and six inches of underwear showing.
  • Aggressively untied basketball shoes with tongues hanging out
  • Hoodie worn off the shoulder, around the elbows.
  • Baseball cap worn semi-sideways.
He smiled and said "Yo, Power Rangers!!!"

I realized that even geared up like I was, compared to him I didn't look ridiculous at all.

Gear up and wear it like a boss.

TBH it's really hard to make leather pants not sexy. Even if they're not skin-tight shiny black, there is something inherently attractively dangerous about them.

If someone told me they spent $500 on "riding jeans" I'd respect them less if they told me they rode in Levi's.

This! You don't know how many times I got that from buddies.

Unfortunately, I'll still be riding in jeans for a while. I always keep my eyes on the road and the mirrors so I think the typical "Oh, I can dodge it."

They sound fancy. If they actually work as well as the claims they make, they sound like a good idea. Somehow I doubt they actually live up to the hype though.

I bet $100 goes to the freakin' WOODEN BOX they ship them in. What am I supposed to do, strap that to my bike so people know what pants I'm wearing?

They do promise a lot tho... maybe they come w/ a cucumber wrapped in aluminum foil too

I'm actually genuinely curious. Does anyone have any first hand experience with these pants?

550 for a pair of jeans? These things must have something serious going for them otherwise the company would have gone under years ago. Simple economics.

The reviews look good on Revzilla. They look pretty good as well. If I had the money I'd buy a pair to try out. Too bad it doesn't look like it has a zipper in the back. It be great to hook it up the my jacket.

One thing that irks me is the pants appear to be missing a middle-rear belt loop.

They have the ones on left-right sides, and then the ones in the center of the back, but there should be two more belt loops between the hips/spine loops.

Seems like they skimped on those two belt loops.

And it looks like a left/right pocket (w/little-lighter-pocket-on-right-front) and rear left/right pockets. A pocket down on the leg would be nice.

And the sizing looks like they run a little long. A 32x34 appears to be the only 32 available and because they have the waterproof liner, they shouldn't be hemmed or rolled up because the liner would be damaged/exposed.

I want to find someone who owns these and hear their opinion. I've been searching the web for days and these things don't sound that popular. Revzilla said they've only been selling them in north america for about a month now...

I mean if you consider the price of most designer jeans and provided the actual claimed functionality of these jeans, the 500 dollar price tag is not that far out there. On top of all that they ship in a wooden box?

Still, I'd never spend 500 dollars on a pair of pants unless they allowed me to hover in effective Zero G.

All the regular jeans I own don't have those loops.

In my opinion, adding pockets on the leg would take away from the casual jeans look which I assume is the reason people want to buy something like this to begin with.
