I'd get them if they were for the pregen. That said, how do you replace bearings and seals without special tools like the service manual calls for? I'd love to see a DIY. It'd be especially useful for those of us interested in powder-coating (anything we can do ourselves helps lower the cost).

They may actually fit the pregen, i believe the part numbers are the same.

I use a cheap tusk brand bearing puller, takes alot of the struggle out of removal. Its a good investent of 89, cheaper if you can find a coupon.

Without the tool, if you move the spacer thats between the bearings of the wheels, you will have a good shot at getting them out. Just find a long rod and proceed to push them out from the opposite side, a little heat will help also.

Check your local auto parts stores, most let you rent tools for free.

Good ideas. I hesitate to spend even $89 on the tool because I doubt doing that part myself will save me $89 worth of labor from the powder coaters. Renting/borrowing sounds like the better option. If I do have to knock them out from the other side, how would I install the replacements?

Now, you say that these are for the sprocket carrier, right? In that case, I don't think I could use them because I wouldn't have to do anything to the sprocket carrier to PC the rims (entire carrier and cush drive can be removed independently). I'm now not so sure that I am going to get it powdercoated job but, I'm still curious. Now, along those lines, why did you do a bearing job?

- install is easy, just toss them in the freezer overnight to let them shrink. right when you are ready to install take them out and and slowly press them in with something. something soft like a aluminum ring or even a cheap socket that fits over only the outer ring of the bearing.

- i bought those cheap V-rossi wheels from overseas, they include cheap-o bearings that need upgraded

No! Not enough pics of those wheels on our bikes. Haven't seen any on US bikes.
