Bridge Day 2010 and Red River Gorge

Rode a couple hours into West Virginia on Saturday for Bridge Day! I must say it was such a beautiful ride. The bridge is the New River Gorge Bridge in central WV, just below Charleston. It rises nearly 900 feet above the valley floor where the river resides. White water rafting is a popular hobby here but on this one day a year, the bridge is closed and base jumping becomes legal. Rode with a few friends [250 rebel and some harleys].
Like I said, the ride was beautiful. Hit the interstate for a bit and then some nice calm twisties coming up through the gorge. Creeks and caves on each side. Waterfalls and old bridges. The fall leaves changing and falling right by your head. Was incredible. About 200 miles round trip.
Here are a few pics and I have some videos of the base jumpers Im going to try and upload later.
Oh, and I have to thank my Ninja <3 for getting me there and back safely right after my jet and filter install. (It rides sooooooo nice too!)

I also went on a nice ride last month to the Red River Gorge in Kentuckys Daniel Boone National Forest. Yea, a bunch of beautiful roads around here.

This trip was a little over 300 miles. Little sore on the posterior and knees but I made it and would do it again!

I was there but...

I walked from my house. I live less than a mile from the bridge. It was a beautiful day! I went for a ride after watching the crazies huck themselves off the bridge, and finished my mandatory funnel cake.
