Try a Napa parts store.

Autozone also has those filters for $10.00. I think it's from Spectre or something the like.

I picked up a UNI brand crank breather off amazon for like $7 or something. I'm pretty sure the ID of the open end is 1/2", but just measure to be sure. Then go check with the specs before you buy. Usually amazon will suggest you bundle the crank breather in with the k&n pod because they're two commonly purchased together items. It will say customers who bought this k&n filter also bought this breather blah blah blah.

I used a K&N breather element as well but with a nipple for attachment.

I guess I should put a breather on mine. It's been plugged up for a long time now.

this week i will be getting parts and start taking things apart on the 250. I was thinking about taking off the chain and soaking it in my "Diesel" jug that i soak my ZX6R chain in. maybe i will take some pictures while i do it, but my hands get pretty dirty.

lol, i figured the crankcase wasn't sealed.
the oil test would have said something about the rings being blown.

Air box is gone, now it is the waiting game till the air filter, breather and jet kit arrives. only took 2 hours to take it all apart and put back together.

just gonna say this... you will need to rejet after filters are installed. rejetting means trying lots of jets and fine tuning to get the exact right setup. going with a "suggested" jet setup will most likely be off and end up decreasing your power.

thanks for the heads up, i will be doing some fine tuning either this week or next, depends on when i have time, and when the air filter gets here.

Well since it is sturgis bike week, I might as well go get it dynoed this weekend. As of now the throttle response is a million times better, acceleration is smooth and at 70 mph i am at about 8000RPMs.

Did a dyno run on it today, came out 28.93 HP and 14.32 Torque. Fuel to air is damn near perfect. i will scan the dyno chart later, i am going riding now.

Nice job. Do you know if this would be legal for WERA or CCS? Where you able to remove the airbox without removing the tire or doing any cutting?

Does anybody know if this is legal for WERA or CCS? I remember reading the WERA rulebook and it sounded like it wasn't, but then, there's a couple things that sounds illegal but I've read that they were accepting it for that class...? Like the use of a stock GSX R600 rear shock swap.
