Fork oil

Im getting my 250 ready for race season and im doing springs and oil. I was wondering if 15w would be too heavy? ill be running .85 springs and I weigh 160 without gear.

Racetech recommends 15W. The real way to find out if you like it or not is to try it.

The good news is swapping fork oil is easy. Just open the cap, pour it out, pump the fork a few times to get any more bits of oil out. Refill with different weight. Racetech recommends a 140mm air gap with the fork fully compressed.

Ideally, if you want to get as much fork oil out, you have to completely dissassemble the forks and possibly change out the seals.

I have .70 Sonic Springs with Racetech Emulators with 15W...so far I like it. Ive messed with a lot of settings on my emulators switching between the stiffer yellow springs and softer blue springs. So far my latest setup is blue springs with 5 threads showing on the emulators.

Agreed...it may be too much. I am 170-185 without gear and I run Sonic Springs. I haven't measured sag yet but the bike feels really good for me.

Thanks for the quick reply guys. I have always ran pretty heavy springs but that is what traxxion said would work best for me so ill give them a shot. pretty easy change if I don't like them!
