Loose chain adjuster

Came back from a 400 km ride on saturday, was raining sunday so I decided to install my new brake pads. I noticed that the chain adjuster on the right side was loose. I checked the alignment markings, doesn't look like the the axle had moved.

Does anyone know why this would have come loose? I had my tires changed back in april and have done almost 5000km since then.

I snugged it back up, but the weird thing was that both nuts were tight together.

Should I be worried about my rear wheel alignment?

Nothing to really worry about. It's a bike, stuff is gunna vibrate loose from time to time. A little dab of silicone will solve that issue all together.

Yeah sometimes that can happen, you have to get lucky to get the nuts locked and still move freely but it happens once every great while. If you re-tighten it again it probably won't do it again but a dab of silicone is great for peace of mind. Personally I replaced my out nuts with nylon locking nuts so I wouldn't have to deal with silicone.
