Stuck at the bottom!

My "Top" (of page) button has stopped working (on my iPhone at least, I haven't checked my desk computer yet)! It still highlights when the top button is pressed but nothing happens now for the last few days. Is this a site issue or something on my end?

Thanks for any assistance.

Now that I think about it; Apple updated the phone software to iOS 10.3.1 around the same time this problem began. I'll check my desktop asap.

Reboot the phone. It's not a site issue, it's likely just a cache issue with the local browser. I just confirmed that it's working on iOS 10.3.1 here, on both Safari and Chrome.

Rebooted but still not working
It's not a big deal for me: I only display 5 posts per page so my thumbs only get a wee bit more phone flex than before. It is a curiosity though! Both the "Previous Thread" and "Next Thread" buttons fully function, only the "Top" button fails to function despite that it highlights when clicked. Again; only on my phone.

The button isn't a feature to be turned on or off, or to work/not work for specific browsers. All it is, is a link to the #top of this page, right within the html code itself. here's the link that the browser interprets when you press top:

Code:
https://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=292688#top
Even the Next Thread buttons are (very) slightly more complex, in that it is pulling up a function within the showthread php file.

Code:
https://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=292688&goto=nextnewest
If the "top" button isn't working, it really can only be that your browser doesn't see where the #top is in the code for the page that you are currently on. It is in the html code (just look at "view source", so if it isn't recognizing it, it has to be something like a cache issue or other browser glitch.

On your iphone, which browser do you use? Whether it is Safari, Chrome, or other, try another one to confirm it's just a single browser problem. Figure out how to clear cache/remove internet history for whichever browser is giving you trouble. Go to App Store, hit Update in the bottom right, and make sure every app is fully updated.

Doesn't work for me on Firefox but I'm certain that has to do with Noscript and nothing else. Home key does that job for me, anyway

Interesting!!! - I've confirmed the issue, but I'm surprised that this is a new problem.

http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2...-iphone-safari

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3132659?tstart=0

First, scroll down a bit further on any of the pages on the site, and there is a "Top" link in the bottom footer (look in the way bottom right of the page). That is the one I was testing before on iOS 10.3.1, and it works fine in all browsers. The apparent problem is that the "Top" link in the middle of the page between the previous thread / next thread, is a dynamic reference to the top of the specific page, compared to just a generic link to the top of whatever page it is on. Desktop browsers aren't bothered by this. Mobile browsers apparently are. If you scroll over either link by the time it is interpreted in the desktop browser, they look identical.

I'm not sure if there is a fix, without messing around with core vBulletin code more than would be worth the effort/risk, but I am surprised that it has taken this long to be recognized. Keep in mind that much of the vBulletin code has been around for many years before the iPhone was dreamed up by Steve, so at times I'm somewhat surprised that it all still works as well as it does 15+ years later.

On my Firefox, the "top" right below the quick reply doesn't work, but the one at the bottom of the page by the "terms of service" works.
