Air leak from Tire Valve
My tire randomly goes flat while sitting overnight every once in a while. This is because the valve leaks air if it is moved. If/when I remove the valve cap it will leak air sometimes from the center hole. It also leaks air from around the base where it meets the tire. What is wrong w/ it and how can I fix this?

valve replacement
You can buy a replacement valve from an auto supply place for a couple of bucks.
If you break the bead on one side of the tire, you can probably remove the old valve and insert the new one. You put on a steel valve cap and pull it through, soapy water helps. Then pump the tire up until the bead seats again, soapy water helps. No need to re-balance. |

Replace the schreader core and air up to your air preferences. Not sure on how each one costs, but it is penny's.

Bead is the edge of the tire that seats on the interior of the wheel's rim.

Took it to the shop, found out the valve was dryrotted around the rim area. Needed a new tire so had a new tire+ valve put on. I guess I'll have to learn how to replace the valve next tire change...

The auto parts place sells a tool for that job. Called a stem puller or something like that. Costs a couple bucks.
