I saw someone die this morning
Yes, serious.
Got off work, driving under a bridge towards the entrance of the freeway I take home, and suddenly a car flies off the freeway onto the sidewalk... upside down. Driver died on impact. I pulled over and immediately started yelling, "Holy sh*t! Holy sh*t!" I don't know why I kept saying it repeatedly. Someone else called 911. Firefighters, paramedics and some cops were on the scene in less than 2 minutes, I believe. They pulled the driver out of the car and immediately put him/her in a black body bag. I left after that. When I got home, I had a really hard time sleeping. . . I've seen a person get shot before (he lived), but it didn't terrify me as much as this crash. I don't know what kind of condition the driver was in before the crash (i.e. drunk, tired, drugged, etc.), but whatever it was, R.I.P.

Wow man, that's pretty crazy. I don't know what I would've done in that situation...Maybe take this as a sign to try and get some more sleep yourself before riding? My only accident in my car is from not having enough sleep....ended up falling asleep at the wheel and rear ending someone. Car was in the shop for over a month and both myself and the other driver suffered whiplash not to mention I had a bad cough for a few days from my chest slamming into the steering wheel.

I drove past the place where the crash happened, and the clean-up crew did a really swell job of it. It doesn't even seem as though a 1 & 1/2 ton sedan smashed roof-first there.

When I was in elementary school, I was walking home with a friend. A few blocks away from my house, one of my neighbors, who was a man paralyzed from the waist down, was arguing with some other dude. I don't remember the specifics of the argument, but one thing led to another and the wheel-chaired fellow pulled out a small gun and shot the other guy in the chest. My friend and I ran home. The cops used my friend as a witness for the assault.
I'm not sure what became of the wheel-chaired guy, but the other dude moved out of the neighborhood a short while later.

I'm not sure why, but I really can't sleep for too long during the day. It's nearly impossible for me to sleep any time past 11:30 a.m. I woke up at 11:27 today for no reason. Just laid in bed for a bit & kept thinking about life. . . It's too damn short.

Damn that's some crazy sh*t man. I would of been tripping the same way. I would of taken my herb medicine to sleep and relax after witnessing that event. Lol.
R.I.P to the driver of the car..

I have watched someone die because I couldnt get a toilet door open because they were leaning against it. It does play with your mind. It still does to this day and I am 42 and it happened when I was 21.

Lol, sometimes it felt like it. I spent 2003-09 in the desert pulling triggers for Uncle Sam and now I'm a nurse. At least now, hopefully, I'm not the reason for their demise.

I worked law enforcement for around 10 years and have seen a few things that still stick in my mind. Strangely, I saw more people die going to drag boat races back in the early 70's before safety cells. Good advice DarC on moving on. Jeff

I was a behavioral health case manager for a short stint and worked with a lot of guys coming back from down range with bad cases of PTSD. Getting lost in something they enjoyed was the one thing they said really helped them out in certain instances, the rest was dealt with by just talking about it. So I think we have covered our bases here! Motorbikes and Ninjette.org for the win
