Rainy Day CDI Experiment Thread

Since I no longer have the OEM (at least for my '09) CDI installed on my bike and we haven't dried out from the Noreaster that passed thru, I decided to experiment some today.

Using a multimeter, I measured and recorded all pin combinations of the '09 CDI. I then removed the rubber heatsink mount from it and placed the CDI in the oven at a temperature of 200 degrees for 10-15 minutes. I then took a few measurements and recorded same. Since my wife came home during the testing, along with a couple of our grandchildren, I had to cease and desist!!

Needless to say the results did not surprise me, especially since my CDI was causing problems when it was installed. A couple of values actually tripled their resistance when heated!
