I woke up and it was sunny. So I decided that I was going to ride to church instead of driving since my car had no gas anyways. Realized that it was a little chilly outside as I went down the block, and I wanted to turn back... but I decided to man up and just push through it. Anyways I got on the highway and experienced cross winds for the very first time. I kept calm and tuck myself in as much as possible. Not a fun experience but it was a good learning one.

Haha, yea my first time was scary as hell!
I'm starting to like the feeling of cross winds, I don't know if that's a good thing...

How many miles did you rack up?

~60 miles, 330 miles total on the bike. I'm racking it up pretty quick as I find myself driving less and less...

Will a DB windscreen help? I've been keeping my eyes on a zero gravity dark smoke DB for awhile.

Cross winds sound scary, might blow you right off the road.

I was doin between 70 and 80 leaning about 15 degrees to the right, just to keep goin' strait.

We experienced some crosswinds today also in Southern Indiana... I decided to "tuck in" and "lay" on my tank. WOW, what a world of difference. The winds did not exist when I was in the aggressive position. I am starting to wonder if clip on's would be good for me.

I'm glad a few of us were able to enjoy the sun today. No telling if it's gonna come out tomorrow!

cross winds suck. i was going through my favorite twisty section one day and the wind was blowing so hard that i had to push harder to maintain my line. then the wind suddenly died and i shot towards the edge of the lane. really scary. after a couple turns like that, i slowed way down.

Cross winds are not fun at all... the first time I hit a real cross wind I was doing 130kph down the highway round a corner with a concrete barrier... The wind was pushing me into the barrier, watching it get closer was rather scary, especially since I was really leaned over as it was. LOL.

Don't think they'll help with cross winds but they'll certainly stop the wind from hitting smack dab on your chest when your riding upright.

yeah, as you could imagine, it is useless in a cross wind. but it really helps on the highway during normal riding situations..

I rode 400 miles this weekend in those same winds. It was my first time out with the dark smoke ZG DB screen. Straight on, that screen is just plain awesome. I couldn't get over the difference in the wind hit point. Best mod so far. As far as from the side, yeah, nuttin. The only thing I noticed about that screen is it's a dust magnet. I'm going to try wiping it down with a dryer sheet and see if that kills the static.

Going over bridges will get you sometimes too. There's one bridge on Pellissippi Pkwy that messes me up all the time. Be careful in that wind, it's scary.

It sure was cold last night. Rode about 225 miles after dark last night and decided my boots and gloves are only good to about 40 degrees. 5 hours later I was at home in a nice hot shower

i have yet to hit really hard cross wind or on a strong front wind. may need to get a wide front shield. do they make a big difference in front wind.
