Frame slider recommendations?
I have a 2012 and I am looking for good frame sliders..no cut no drill hand tool only installation type of frame sliders. SW Motech has a set on sale for $149.00 , delrin spools and high carbon steel bolts./
Any suggestions on which brand and why you recommended them? Looking to hear from Ninja owners who have installed them not third hand parties please. Wardie

Shogun seem to be the most popular around here. I don't know from experience though, since I've never owned frame sliders. I've always been a little iffy about them after hearing that they can cause damage to the frame in some circumstances.

the more i crash the less i feel frame sliders are useful. Not saying they are not ideal for little drops, but once they catch the bike goes tumbling causing more damage to the bike.

I'd rather ruin the fairings than bend the fame where the sliders mount.

I've seen shogun sliders hold up pretty well to lowslides on the tracks. Each crash is different though. Granted they will save most of your fairings, but you'll need to be replacing either rearsets, handle bars, clipons, or levers.

I only have experience with T-Rex frame sliders, which are awesome quality.
Do have your expectations right when it comes to Frame sliders... They will NOT save your fairing from *any* damage, fairing will take damage in a crash, just maybe not as much. IMO - I won't bother to put them on another bike...I got more use out them as foot rest(s). |

Shogun sliders provide a 2point crossbrace to protect the frame/engine. Installation was fairly easy and they were pretty solid/beefy.
Remember: sliders are not intended to protect your fairings, but more the frame/motor! |

When I wrecked enough to do serious damage, the engine bolt holding the sliders on twisted and made for a PITA to remove the busted set (I had T-Rexx).
