Which '11 to get
So I should be able to get my 250 Ninjette this coming week, I'm going to get a 2011 to save a bit of money. I'm not sure if I want to get the green and take off the black decals from the fairings or if I want to get the black and add pink decals to it. I'm leaning towards the black with pink, as I love that colour combination as well as it would be much more unique than a plain green one. I'd have the pink decals done on a reflective vinyl for more night visibility as well, so that would be a major plus point to that option too, in my opinion.
So, I'm looking on thoughts / feedback as well as any ideas on designs for the black/pink. I'm not doing flowers or things like that, I'd like to keep it fairly masculine in design as it'll already be in a 'girly colour'. |

I chose the pink option because it's more unique.
I think your "reflective vinyl" idea is good too. If the pink isn't luminescent, then I don't think it would look very good. More importantly than your bike colour scheme... have you done a motorcycle training course and bought full protective gear? |

Ooooh. 1 idea for the design.
You could have luminescent pink rim tape on the wheels. Then: at the lower front of the fairings have little pink droplets seemingly being sprayed off the wheel and up the fairings; kinda like it's dirt, or water. As the droplets get further away from the wheel they could spread out. |

I made a really quick mockup just to give you a rough idea about what I meant.
250r-pink.jpg Looks a bit girlie. Kinda unavoidable with pink! You could also have pink droplets underneath the tail, so it looks like they've been sprayed up there too. |

Voted green. Pink has always been a bit too girly for me but that's just me. Purple, on the other hand, is pretty cool...
Edit: There should be a notice for every forum to state whether or not you have gear and have taken the MSF course since that's all anyone really cares about.... |

Well, I wanted to do reflective pink decals on the black because pink is my favourite colour. My everyday wear trainers are a pair of pink Converse.
As per gear and MSF. Yes I have done the MSF and have my endorsement. I have a Shoei RF1100 helmet, Cortech Mesh Gloves, and a TourMaster Mesh jacket. I plan to get boots (Sidi or Alpinestar) and at least textile trousers with armour, though I'd prefer leather trousers and jacket (I've heard Alpinestar is best, what other brands are good and which should I stay away from?) |

I've never really liked pink. I like your idea, but good luck trying not to make it very feminine. @akima 's idea is pretty nice.
I picked green because I've always been a sucker for Kawasaki Green. One of the reasons I like Kawasaki hahah

So, as I have gathered, the Ninja logo on the fairing is pretty easy to take off. The Kawasaki on the gas tank is supposedly under the clear coat, does anybody know of anyplace that makes replacement Kawasaki decals in different colours (pink) that will fit over it? I don't want to take the clear coat off and repaint the tank just to recolour the Kawasaki logo. I've been talking to Tri, but she can't guarantee she can make one that fits perfectly, so if she can't do it, I'd like to have a plan B. Also, I'm not the most steady-handed person, what's the best way to put a decal to cover it without the factory one showing?
I'm going to Photoshop some design ideas over the weekend, so will post some black/pink design ideas I've had as well as suggestions I see on here. |

I was thinking the same thing! I got a pre-gen, that was my idea of saving money. My bike is a 2004.

That's what I was thinking. Only way he's saving money is if the 2011 is used.

I only browse bikes on craigslist....are the 2011 at dealerships any cheaper than 2012s? It'd make sense but few things ever follow that logic so....

I thought "emo" was a world wide thing. It's a style of music and an associated sub-culture.
"emo" image results. Pink stars on a black background are very emo. |
