250R wont start
bike has been rebuilt to perform, thanks for all your advice and help. Love it, like a complete diff bike, actually has balls for a little girl. Got home today and went to ride her, but, pushed starter and nothing happened, lights work, horn works, no blown fuses, tried back up key (hoping lol) and nothing still. had to remove rearsets and re install factory pegs because of hit and run damage, so thinking may be that silly sender unit thinking sidestand is down may be culprit. Any ideas where to start testing / looking? anyway to bypass stand down sensor? Thanks again

Silly question, is it in gear? Neutral? Clutch in or out when pushing starter?
Eliminate easy before tackling hard. :-)

not in gear, kill switch in correct position, wondering if starter switch on bar goes bad, side stand down sensor goes bad or starter solenoid went bad. Live by the ocean but keep rust away as much as possible. Just cant figure out the nothing happening when push start button, but all fuses good, all lights work and batt at full charge. arghh, now rain day and down to last case of beer. Tried both with clutch in and clutch out, little button still does nothing when try to start. Never ever happened to her before.

Unfortunately, I can't help diagnose, someone smarter than me will have to step in. Just thought I'd ask the obvious to get it out of the way before diving into deeper troubleshooting.

One time I dropped mine and pushing the button did nothing and I was miles away outside of town, and even though the battery looked good I decided to try bump-starting it because I was on a pretty steep hill, anyway, and it fired right up, I rode home, and haven't had the issue since. Fires right up. This was on my 2003 model, though, and I'm not so sure on why it even worked for me, but maybe give it a shot?

Thanks for your replies. Got the problem. I have adjustable levers, someone moved clutch to setting 1, I use setting 3. Setting 1 does not allow for depressing clutch engaged activation. wondered why it felt weird holding it in. Set to 3 again and it fired right up. Raining hard now, but the beer is really cold so I will play tomorrow. Thanks again guys. Adjustable levers fit good but that sucks, good to know though. glad I didnt start disconnecting all wiring and meter them. WHEW.

Glad it was something simple.
