Chain Adjustment/Rear Wheel Alignment?

Are there any how-to's on the subject of adjusting the chain slack and rear wheel alignment out there? I've been trying to find some, but the one in the DIY thread has all dead images and requires you to buy some extra product which I don't really want to buy. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Thing is, that's a different bike and looks like a different mechanism from my bike. How applicable is that to my bike?

EDIT - Also, that method seems to leave quite a bit of margin for error.

A bike Is a bike, the mechanics of it are all the same.

Well if you can't use a tape measure and judge something by Eye then I guess it would be very in accurate but for most of us it works fine.

Beer is fine, I use my cats to hold the string.

The string method is by far the most accurate method that I've found. It's just a complete pain in the ass trying to move the beer bottles 1/4" to make tiny adjustments. Next time, I'm going to go with a long ass light tube.

The marks on the swingarms aren't the most accurate. Here's the alignment using the marks on the swingarm. Huge difference.

Right side of the bike:

Left side of the bike:

By the way, I use hammers to tie the strings to. Next time, I'll try beer bottles.

Start at post #23 in that thread. No product to buy (the one initially recommended in that discussion thread is useless), and the process is dead simple on the ninjette.

If you are doing a track day on an oval is there any advantage to having the rear tire (and wheel) kicked out to the right to compensate for the left turns?
