Pulled down the race fairings to get prepped for drilling. Beginning final prep work for birthday track day next week. First one taking out the 636. Antsy with impatience!

Commuted to work and back home. Haven't rode the bike in awhile, but it was nice and fun. About an 80 mile or so commute, with nice scenery, mountains, farmland and twisties. Part of me wanted to go to Yosemite, but it was a little late in the day.

Started pulling fairings off to get track plastics on. HOLY CRAP why are there so many things to take off this 636??? I love the 250 for simplicity.

the new 300 is the same way, way too many fairings and two particularly annoying loose fairings that I'm tempted to superglue together so I can stop popping them back in.

I'm beginning to think this bike might be permanently track plastics...

I would assume that the 636 would have better stock fairings than the 300

Installed a new K&N air filter, also replaced broken fairing (huge pain in the a$$!)

The OEM fairing did not come with ANY of the grommets, screws or the extremely important hardware pieces that was originally on my fairing, it made it almost impossible to put this fairing on how it should be to replace. Can't understand how people say the Ninja 250r is easy to work on, it was a huge annoyance! Also doesn't come with any of the insulator lining foam like in my picture of the old one, beats me why and how they get to charge this much for the piece to not even include the damn foam.

Don't be that idiot and rip the throttle in a slippery garage trying to pull out like I did. I know if I drop the bike again I'm just gonna tape the damn thing up. Sorry but it's just too much money and effort for a piece of plastic.

Interesting about the foam, neither of our 250s had that. Maybe we don't get foam in the UK?

My coworker and I took a trip up the mountain and hit a few twisties or two. First time doing it. Wow what an exhilirating experience! But one thing I noticed is that I wish my feet had more wiggle room. Will adding the Yoshimura rearset brackets help me in this situation?

@cuong-nutz

I lied, I have 11.5k miles on my S20's.

Received my Diablo Rosso II's from American Moto Tire and 90 degree valve stems from MotoMummy today.

Ordered the tires Monday morning, shipped Wednesday from Arizona. Valve stems were ordered Tuesday evening and shipped Wednesday from Texas.

More than I'll ever get out of them here in Texas! I'll need to get some new valve stems next tire replacement.

Took the day off to try and get some work done on the bike.

Took whole front end apart, forks off.

Put my RT springs and emulators in and everything that goes along with it.

Replaced brake lines with SS lines (still need to bleed)

Put on a new larger front rotor, Started fabing up an adapter/mount bracket to mount the brembo 4 pot caliper i got to go with it.

Installed R6 throttle tube

Thats about it. No brakes yet so didn't get to go for a ride to test suspension unfortunately

Returned the 250 to stock as much as I could, replaced the broken parts I had replacements for, and wiped and polished it. Still need to clean the wheels and replace the tires before I put it up for sale.

For sale?? I guess it's Street Triple time hehe

As for me, chain cleaned/lubed yesterday - going to venture to the dealer today to get them to sign off on the rear brake bracket modification they did about 2 months ago. Letter number 3 arrived in the mailbox a few days ago

Its a chinese caliper from Ara Shi, i think that is the company. Bolts straight up fits really well. Got it off ebay. Ebay seller offered me a discount on my next purchase because of misinformation in their ad, i thought about buying another to just have around to sell if anyone else is interested.

But rotor looks like it is good quality.

I got a brembo 4 pot from ebay. It came of an 01 ducati 748. They can be found on ebay from $70-$160 or more. I got left and right pair for $120 shipped. Might try and finagle the left caliper on the rear, should be interesting.

I futzed with the mounting bracket today and it is going to mount up no problems i just need to work out some of the finer details with the bracket and decide which way i want it to work. The prototype bracket i made today works but needs to be better and there is always more than one way to make something work so i will probably make a bracket that functions a little differently as well.

Rotor i got from ebay actually came with a mounting bracket but it is not a good fit. It seem like it would work with a bigger rotor, or maybe a different caliper than i have IDK? I will email them about the bracket today and see what they have to say.

After i get a functional bracket i am going to PM details to that guy on the forum that does CNC so that he can machine me up one that looks a little more professional. Once he has the numbers he should be able to make them at the drop of a hat for other people interested.

Put a good 200 miles of back road riding and lubed the chain. Found out my chain is stretched but it'll hold out.

Got my Diablo Rosso II's mounted and adjusted/aligned the chain.

Going to make a checklist of some missing bolts and plastic rivets to order with a new LH fairing.
