I'm going to have to pull my front fairing stay and rebend that thing back again. I broke all the main fairing tabs up front so I need to find some lego blocks at local thrift shop to use as filler abs material and patch it up.

I never thought of using Lego's. Brilliant.

After a good long ride yesterday, with some let's say spirited riding, SERENITY has voiced her opinion, and developed some issues, which I will look into the next few day, due to rain is in the forecast.

Today is the last day I will be taking the scenic route home from work until the spring time change. I will still take it into work some but it is difficult to get going 20 minutes sooner in the morning.

Enjoying them already. Took the 2007 for a spin around the neighborhood, it runs great (better than my 2001, I need to freshen it up over the winter).

Ian is already shopping for riding gear and has signed up for a BRC. I think he has also signed up here on the forums, but I don't know what his user name is.

Good looking bikes! But why four of 'em? One for you, one for Ian, one for track, one spare (or for spouse)?

Having multiples is good from a maintenance and repair knowledge/know-how standpoint. But it lacks diversity in riding experience.

One for me (2001), one for Ian's little Sister Meg who started riding a couple months ago (1989), one for Ian,aka Thirdfish (2007) , and one as a project to work on (1988).

Most likely one will either go to one of my other kids, my wife (doubtful) or one of several unofficial foster kids that hang out at my house and eat all my food.

It would have been just 3 bikes, but Racer x wanted to get rid of a bunch of pregen stuff due to a pending move and made me an offer I couldn't refuse to haul it all away for him. So while shopping for Ian's bike it was a two for one special.

As for lacking diversity, I've had a dirt bike, three dual sports, two super sports, ridden plenty of cruisers. These four Ninjettes won't be the only bikes, I can see Ian and Meg and even myself trading up in a while. Meg has been talking about getting a cruiser because she really liked the Honda Rebel she took her BRC on. But one or two of the Ninjettes will stay around. I kind of like the idea of a cafe racer, and was going to change my 2001 into one until I found a great deal on a full fairing kit from someone parting out their pregen. So I will probably keep the cafe racer once I get it sorted out.

Well technically only two are mine, one is my daughters and one is my sons. But they all live at my house and are on my insurance plan so I claim them.

Bought some Woodcraft clipons for I bike that I don't even have yet.

Set up the time & place to meet and swap my SV650 racebike for a 2010 250 racebike. If all goes as planned, I'll be heading home with my own Ninjette Saturday afternoon.

I do have a red tank and tail piece in my pile of parts, that would give me Green, Red, Black, and Blue. I know they also made silver, what other colors do I need?

Brought it home. 2010 with only 2000 miles on it. Already started taking stock stuff off it start the race prep. Man those stock head pipes are skinny! Good thing it came with a new Area P pipe.

Pulled the battery and stuck it on the tender. Tired of jumping it since I've been slacking off and not riding it lately. Bike is still nekkid waiting on an oil change and some minor maintenance even after three weeks.

Would've been nice to hang out with the Motoseries folks for the evening, but I had to get home for previous commitments.

As far as what I did to my Ninjette, I started taking more stock crap off it to do the race prep. I'm still a bit on the fence as to whether or not I want to go full superbike or superstock. The prospect of a 40 hp bike that weighs less than 300lb is very attractive.

Looked at the brand new Area P exhaust today. I'm not really happy with the quality of the welds. On the outside of the pipes, the welds look pretty good, However, on the inside, there is clearly too much penetration and I'm reasonably certain that the resulting flow restriction would make it very difficult to attain the advertised dyno numbers for this pipe. Every weld that I could see had the same type of over penetration. I expect that it'll take me 15-20 hours to clean up the inside of the pipes and there are some areas that I'm not sure that I'll be able to reach.

I've sent an email to Area P to see what they have to say about the issue. I am not expecting Area P to send me a new pipe because I didn't buy it directly from them. However I am hoping that that they give me some sort of assurance that they are going to improve the weld quality for future customers.
I'll keep you all posted on the response.

Oh wow! Check that out. Kerry is a member here and supports this community quite well. I have had my areap for a number of years now and 100% for sure remember that it was NOT like that upon unboxing. Any chance that is just buildup sticking to the welds from running the pipe?

Nope. Brand new unmounted pipe.

Not wanting to cause a stink for Area P. I deal with complaints from very picky pharmaceutical customers regarding the product that the company I work for makes. They can be a pain in the butt and I don't want to be that same pain for others. Even if Area P just assures me they'll do better for future customers, that's good enough for me.

Kind of you to not be that kind of pain. Hopefully it doesn't take being a pain in order to get results.

On the topic of what I did to my ninjette: fought a valiant struggle against red loctite, which a) does what it claims to do and b) is inexplicably used on stock ninjette bar ends. Winning the fight included a drill...but I'm still calling it a win.

Moto Series will have a combined 250 Superbike/300 Stock class next year. The 250 superstock class will be run at the same time. My biggest concern is if the participation in the 250 Superbike/300 stock class doesn't have much participation. I don't want to be in a one-horse race for a championship.

On the topic of what I did to my ninjette: fought a valiant struggle against red loctite, which a) does what it claims to do and b) is inexplicably used on stock ninjette bar ends. Winning the fight included a drill...but I'm still calling it a win.
LOL! I assume it's some bored out of his mind worker on the production line getting his kicks knowing we poor saps are going to lose our minds trying to remove the PHILLIPS head, 1 1/4 inches of welded thread screw out of the bar ends!
I had to drill mine too. Next time I run into it: out comes the heat wrench to melt that bond first!

30 years from now; it will only matter how much hardware you have on the mantle...not how you got it!

I know that deal. Rumor has it that red Loctite is distilled from the petrified carcasses of gigantic prehistoric insects. It just aint funny trying to loosen something with that stuff on it. Fortunately I just bought some Woodcraft clipons and the stock bars are going directly into the scrap metal bin. (They'll be sitting right next to the stock exhaust) That thing is a serious boat anchor!
