motorcycle themed tshirts??
Hello all.
I am thinking of starting up my own t shirt company. The niche would be for the motorcycle enthusiast. I don't want to get too into detail because I am paranoid of people stealing my ideas I am basically judging if there would be any interest in something like this. I plan on making 1-2 shirts based off of the current gen ninja 250r and a few more of other things motorcycle related. All these shirts would be made in the USA and 100% cotton, pre-shunk and very high quality. I made up a very rough idea of what a sample t shirt would look like(front brake &rotor on a sportbike is what this is based off of): |

I don't think motorcycle people are into T-shirts. However, if you do decide to produce such shirts I would put pictures of motorcycle on them. I don't think that has been done before.

Thank you for your input.
My idea was to make the shirts look like an abstract design to the average joe, but a motorcycle enthusiast would recognize it. Like the picture above, a person who doesnt ride would think it is some abstract design, but someone who rides and is into bikes would hopefully recognize it as a beefy motorcycle front brake and rotor/wheel. Whether or not there is a market for something like this at all is what I am trying to see. The problem with putting say a whole ninja 250r on the tshirt is I am worried how that would conflict with copyright laws and royalty fees etc. |

I'd be interested in some T shirts that are sportbike, Ninja, or motorcycle oriented. It seems that every bike shirt or decal is geared toward the Harley/cruiser riders-flames, skull and crossbones, eagles, explicit or rude messages...it's about time we had some stuff available to fit our tastes. I'm gping to see if Kevin's Garage can do a decal for me that says "Quiet, inexpensive, smooth, quick,".

I like exploded views of engines, and other components.... in an abstract sort of way.

Thanks for all the input. I haven't had that much interest with other people as well. I will probably make a few shirts, see how they sell and go from there.

I like the idea! I guess a lot would depend on creativity of your designs, and on the price. Looks like a good start so far.

I think the only time I've ever seen anyone wear a motorcycle related t-shirt was when i was riding in a large group. Had the group logo and some had their nicknames or whatever.
But I still don't see how that would make you business because anyone can get a printing shop to do it.
