ZX-10R mirrors on a 2008 ninja 250

Has anyone tried this?
Is the bolt spacing similar?
Know anyone in the bay area with a 2011-13 ZX-10R willing to let me test fit your mirror on my bike?

@Sailariel did this with his bike, but they were mirrors from an earlier ZX-10R model.

Alright so today I received my 2011 ZX-10R mirrors in the mail for a member of another forum $110 shipped. They look new and the lights work just fine, they even use the exact same connectors as the ninjette so I was able to plug them right in and test them. I can now confirm that the bulbs are in fact LEDs but i haven't tried taking it apart just yet. Creating the adapter bracket to mount them may require me to visit my friend in LA so it may be time for another ROAD TRIP!

So I finally got a chance to pull off the 250 mirrors and get some measurements and then through together a quick sketch and sent it to my buddy in LA. I has all the cool programs and machines I wish I had. So I sent him this

And ten minutes later he send me this

Link to original page on YouTube.

He's going to mail me a mockup made of plastic first so I can test fit it and give it the final OK.

If any of you are serious about doing this mod I can ask him if he'll make a few extra sets but only if your very serious and I'm sure he'll want to do it all at once so I won't be able to show the the finished product before hand but if its going on my bike you can be sure it's going to look clean.

not sure how much He'd charge for the adapter mount but I'd say between $50-100 with no anodizing since I really haven't looked for an anodizing shop yet. The plan for anodizing was to wait till I got enough mods done then taking them all in at once and getting them anodized black so I could save money. I bought the mirrors used in great condition for $100. Once he get a better idea of total machining time and material cost I'll let you know the cost.

My friend has been swamped at work so not much progress yet but he said he want to cut the first piece this Friday. End of next week is the earliest I'll see any parts from him.

In the mean time I'm shopping for a powder coating setup for all these parts I'm making. I may spring for a nicer setup so I can do my truck and moto wheels

I pick up a used toaster oven for $20 today to cure all my small parts.

Here's the rough piece. Still needs the mounting holes on the 250 side and some polishing work but its looking promising. It looks a bit beefier then I pictured it in my head but we'll see when I get it in hand.

So I coated them black and mounted everything up and connected the wires and the indicators work fine BUT. My right Mirror is sitting 1 inch lower then my left so ether my friend got one of his 4 revisions mixed up in the final product(he looking into this), or my fairing bracket is not perfectly square. You would never notice with the stock mirrors because the stalks are adjustable so you always position them till they best match. But with these mirrors the stalks only have two set positions, out and folded. I know this is worthless without pics but I forgot and I won't have the bike till late tomorrow so I'll fix the mirrors alignment and take a video of them in action.

Hi Jason,

bit of a thread revival. Would your friend have the design files available by any chance? I'm wondering whether the mounts could be 3D printed...

I have the ability to print .STL files but would have a crack with whatever's available if he's game :-)

Worst case I have to learn how to re-create the design from your pencil sketch!

Cheers, Pete

I like you already.

Yes, they could be printed. Just build them up so they're not flexy, and make sure they don't warp when being printed. I keep ruining parts from warpage while printing.

I spent 20 geeky hours building myself one of these:

http://www.k8200.eu/

I have been having quite a lot of fun with it. I did see someone on thingiverse had uploaded a design for a "throttle lock" cramp-buster and used it on their 250R, I did wonder if it was a Ninjetter :-)

Cheers, Pete
