New to bikes, but curious....
I see a lot of Slip-On exhaust systems, but I don't see where anyone makes aftermarket Headers, or test pipes. I come from a world of cars, but this baffles me.
Is there a reason why? I am personally a huge fan on the MGP Growler slip on, but want a full system. I have no problem building my own header, I've done it before for my car. I am just curious if there is reasoning behind this. I don't want to buy a Full system for 500+ and then purchasing the MGP slip on to make my own full system. TYIA, Brandon |

Not trying to be a smart allick here, but that's what I was getting at.
I am wondering as to why no company just makes a specific aftermarket header or test pipe for motorcycles. |

And as i type this I stand corrected. I see where Leo Vince sells full header pipes without can for sale for 350'ISH.
BUT, I still don't see it as common as cars. So i would still like to know why its not so common. |

The growler is an annoyingly loud can. 10 mins at high rpms is going to make you want to kick puppies and kittens. It's that damn annoying.

my last road race car was a 420WHP NSRT4 running 3" downpipe dump and Open WG Dump, fully gutted and caged. TRUST ME, when I say I love loud, I love loud.

emission tests on bikes are pretty much a joke unless you want to sell thousands of them. the reason more people dont sell headers only is because if they did they wouldn't be able to make extra money by selling you their branded can. supposedly they also tune the pipe specifically for a can but if its not a baffled can i dont see how that can be true.
if you want something so annoyingly loud like a growler, why not buy headers and leave the can off. its about as loud as having the growler.

Honestly, you would gain airflow with headers attached to the oem muffler because the stock headers have 2 (I think?) sets of cats in them. Just not as much flow as if you use the slipon at the same time. The slipon does take off a lot of weight though.
