Turn signals

At $50/piece, the OEM front turn signals are expensive and leave much to be desired in the looks department. I tried these turn signals...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Clear-Front-...a41e87&vxp=mtr

And they were completely wrong. The bullet connectors on the signals were too large and they were three wire type.

Anyone know of non-OEM style front turn signals that will work on my 2000? Some modification of the plastics for flush mounts is okay. I just don't want to have to splice and tape wires. Plug and play only.

I've searched a little and I like these.

http://www.dimecitycycles.com/vintag...-61-83741.html

They appear to be the 2 wire type. Will the bullet connectors fit properly though? I swear I've read somewhere that the connectors on the 250 are smaller than what most bikes use.

Just get new connectors and radio shack. Then cut and solder those into whatever signals you get so you can disconnect them without tape.

You could just cut the stock connectors off the old signals, but leave an inch or two of stock wire connected to them and use the red heat shrink butt connectors instead of tape. The heat shrink connectors have always served me well in the past.

You're going to have a hard time finding signals that come with the ninja size connectors already attached.

I don't have the old signals. I also don't feel like having any spliced together wires. Hence my problem. So the Ninja 250 connectors are really smaller than a standard connector huh? That bites. I tried every generic turn signal at my dealership and while they all had the same size connectors, they were all too large. ARGH! Stupid Kawasaki.

Whatever, $116 later I'll have two new OEM ones. I blow money in ridiculous ways when I'm pissed.

noooo don't do it!

Assuming you still have the intact old turn signal mounts you could just fill up the hole with epoxy, drill a hole and use one of these:

http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=...gnal&_osacat=0

or your choice of flush mounts

The flush mount will cover most of the hole if you don't make it too big. Just sand away any of the ridges on the old holder so it become a flat piece of plastic.

The epoxy method I used to fill the hole is here: http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showp...20&postcount=7

I don't think that there are any production signals made PnP for out bike unless you count Tri's, but he's just doing the work for you, pretty much.

Just cut off the connectors on the bike harness and crimp on some generic push on connectors. As for signals I have found these ones are the nicest of the chinese... I would go for the aisiancycle flushmounts but as everyone knows they are very hard to come by.

I bought the OEM units. Expensive, yes, but I am completely satisfied. Well, I was a bit annoyed that my $113 set of signals couldn't even come with nuts and washers. Oh well. My bike passed its safety inspection today!

A thanks all for your help! I'll be referencing this thread in the future if I ever decide to go aftermarket.
