Adam and Bill are two experts coming down from Washington to race. Brian Bartlow and Kazman (Eric) are experts. Logan, Michael, and I are novices. Actually this probably will be my last novice race.

Young Andrew Lee will be joining us for the trackday at Buttonwillow and will be riding one of Brian's bikes. This is a talented young man to watch for the future!

Well now that we are a few days away from the final WSMC race for 2011... how many are going to be on the grid? is it the same count as before, or has anyone had to cancel??

No rain tires, but I do have rain gear, tires warmers, and good throttle/ brake control.

The weather forcast has been fluctuating with it's chance of rain. I may be odd; but I'm kinda hoping it rains to throw in an extra variable for the race, especially when some riders have little experience with sliding around on a bike.

Beyond that, I'm not praying for rain since I will be tent camping at the track. Plus I do not want anyone to get hurt!

If it ever rains on a race day for me I'd want it to pour not drizzy/sprinkle. It's like which would rather do: Cruise through a turn or go WOT on the track? LOL!

So, the chance of rain for the weekend has now dropped to 20% according to weather.com!
Nemisis and Rexbo, why don't you guys come race with WSMC for this weekend, especially with the larger grid expected??

If it's raining I don't recommend riding on the dot's. I raced in oregon on them and crashed along with half of the class on the first lap. It was much better once we found rain tires to race on for the second day. You feel a ninja slide around like you never thought it could on dot's in the rain. For me rain tires are the only way I will race in the rain.

Big Willow is bleh to me now.

I've raced with WSMC and I think they're cool peeps but the track is boring: 9 turns vs 17 turns...Chuckwalla is the way to go.

But who knows maybe I'll do a round next year. Yeah, I said the same thing this year but never did. LOL!

Ya big willow really isn't worth the money to me, esp not in the wet, but it would be fun to see a big grid of 250s!

Ya, I hear you about the fun level of Big Willow on a Ninja 250 as I can compare it to Streets. I am looking forward to riding with CVMA next year and also with AFM at Buttonwillow for sure... when ever they post the AFM schedule for 2012.

It looks as if there is little to no chance of rain now for the race this weekend.

WSMC finale in the rain

Wow! What a memorable weekend at Willow Springs. Thanks to Feel Like a Pro showing up and the other NorCal and Washington riders who came out on Sunday; it was nice to see a variety and extra 250s on the grid.
Although it was cold, windy and wet; there was some great racing.

Speaking personally, our team "Deviant Gentleman racing", sufferered a big setback Saturday afternoon in practice when my bike seized the motor. Major bummer since I hoped to make it through the weekend and already had plans to rebuild the motor in it and/or my spare motor. I guess talking about it jinxed me.
My teammate, Robert, had a crash in the Sunday am drizzle, but luckily we had enough spares to rebuild his bike for the two novice races. He did well in the races, especially for being on DOT tires.

So, next weekend I plan on disassembling my motor for an autopsy to determine the reason of failure. Then comes the blueprinted rebuild. I had bought this motor in a wrecked bike and only changed the oil previously, before riding it hard 5 weekends.

Above all we look forward to riding new tracks with other clubs next year now that we've had a few race weekends to get used to things and gain some confidence riding.

It was a lot of fun! WSMC puts on a good program, despite all the work we generated with our license applications, post-entries, and numerous trophy pickups. :P

I wish it'd been dry and that there'd been more bikes on the grid, but there were still some great battles, and I got some good rain experience. I can't wait to see how fast this track is in the dry.

ya, they are cool indeed. Guy is fast, lapped me in 6 laps, so i reckon he is doing 1.45. Mind you, it was freezing cold, he did no warmup lap, no tire warmers; I was just behind him the from the starting lane and he just took off.
