FMF Shorty exhaust fitment problem

Hey Gang,
I am tinkering with an FMF Shorty Silencer Muffler I got it on eBay for cheap. The previous owner said it was an extra for his 2000 Yamaha YZ250.
I am wondering how I can make this thing fit my pipe properly.
My '09 Ninja 250's pipe has an internal diameter of 1&1/4"
The FMF muffler's pipe has an external diameter of 1&1/8"
I want to try this thing out to see it if will make the bike sound meaner/deeper/louder. ... WITHOUT harming the engine or any of the original functioning of the bike.
My wife is like: , ,
I am like: , ,
THIS THING IS LOUD!
( may not keep it because all i really want is a deeper sound without breaking the bank.)

Here are some pictures

is there a rubber hose or wrap material I could cut and fit around the muffler pipe, so when I inserted it in the pipe from the bike it would fit very snug? I really have no idea how much heat is down there other than it will fry my leg if i touch it after a 10 minute ride =)
I doubt i'll go to any muffler shop to have it welded or fitted with their fabbed parts. I suppose I'll just head out to an auto parts store tomorrow with my dimensions in hand and see what I can come up with.
I'll be sure to post my results.
If I keep the new muffler, I am sure I will paint the entire assembly flat black.

Thanks for the feedback!

This is just the first run trying out a FMF Shorty Exhaust. I didn't have the correct size connector to seal the pipe connection between the bike's pipe and the muffler soooooo I just wrapped it with 10 layers of extra thick aluminum foil and used high heat tape =) Temporary of course until I can ride in to town tomorrow and get the proper fittings =)
The sound "live" is a bit deeper and less "farty" than what this video sounds like. Phone audio/video suxxor!!!
The volume is approximately TWICE what the OEM can is. YIKES!
My neighbors are gonna HATE me =)

Anyway, ENJOY!
