Respect from a longtime cruiser rider
Some of you may have read my intro in the new member section but for those that hadn't, I have been riding since the early seventies and have owned eight bikes. A couple of Harleys, four Yamahas, a Suzuki, and a Honda. Right now I'm riding an 04 RoadStar that I bought new and have 40 something thousand flawless miles on and will keep until one of us dies. I have never had a sport bike and have been feeling that I am missing out on a different but equally fun type of riding. As I don't want to invest much money into a second bike, I think I hear a Ninja calling to me. Inexpensive, easy on gas, good handling, and style up the wazoo, I think a Kawasaki Ninjette would fit nicely in the garage next to my RoadStar Midnight Betty(bam a lam).

You could get a great deal on a pre-gen bike. I see 2007s with low miles for very good prices. You would enjoy the 250 a lot.

You can get great deals on newgen ('08-'12) 250s as well thanks to the 300 being on the market. It's a great alternative if you don't mind carbs and it's something like half the price on my craigslist feed.

Been riding since 1963. Many bikes over the years. Currently have an 1100cc Moto Guzzi, a 1300cc Yamaha FJR and a 250 Ninjette. The Ninjette (2008) is an absolute hoot. I ride it more than my bigger bikes now. The bike is just fun and joy and so far flawless. It compliments my bigger bikes perfectly in that its so convenient for short rides and/or commuting. The big bikes are for long trips and camping. If I were to buy one now I'd go for the 300 as long as price was no issue. However any Ninjette 250 will save bucks and be worth every penney spent. Bill

Thompson CT track is my intended target and if I can convince the wife I will also hit NY and NH but the budget will determine how many track days I can enjoy this year,

I'm not much of a cruiser guy but that looks like a nice ride. I'd mostly be looking for a bike that would be great for 2up touring if I were to look at a cruiser, Something like a touring bike (i.e. goldwing/massive harley) is too heavy and similar to driving a car to be enjoyable.

I've had a 1300 VTX since 2008 and put 49,000 miles on it. Got my hands on a 2006 Ninjette last fall. It is a blast to ride. I'll keep the VTX forever, but the Ninjette is a fun little ride.
