Installing tech specs on 08-12 Ninja.

So normally its recommended to wax and degrease your tank before installing any form of grip. But on for the 08-12 Ninjas, it doesn't go onto the tank, it goes on the plastic piece below the tank. Do I need to do any sort of special prep work still?

If you have any protection on there like armor all or something id strip it off with IPA. Just so it sticks better.

I have Tech Specs on my ZX6R, CBR600RR, and Ninja 250R. I just make sure the surface is clean and dry. Then, I peel off the adhesive that comes with the Tech Specs because it's poorly made and cut. I use outdoor adhesive and put it on the Tech Specs and apply to the bike. Looks cleaner and better grip.

Just the standard clear outdoor rubber adhesive you can get at Home Depot that comes in a small tube. Once applied let it sit for 24 hours and it's good to go. Doesn't damage paint as to remove I just use a blow dryer like removing decals.

When I prepped my zx-6r for the tech specs (uses 2 pieces just like the 250) I wiped down the area with rubbing alcohol and a microfiber cloth, then applied. No special adhesives required.

They've been on there for an entire year with absolutely no issues.

clean with soap and water until its sparkly. then clean with alcohol to get the surface super dry once the alcohol evaporates. then put the stickers on.

I just installed em today. I used rubbing alcohol to clean it down, washed my hands, and used a hair dryer to heat it up like the recommended. Fit on the plastic pieces just fine. It said to give it 12 hours to stick, which is about when Ill be off to VA for the day. So it will get a thorough test!
