Project bike for my Boyfriend and I to work on together.
Picked it up for $500, needs some clutch work and some odds and ends.
Not sure if it will be staying in the family yet. We may have a cafe racer here.

finally got my hands on a paperback version of the shop manual instead of using a pdf, this way I can focus better while reading it. For some reason if I look at a screen for too long my eyes hurt then my mind hurts and that just doesn't happen with books.

Not gear, but a gizmo. Since I don't want to waste time dealing with my helmet at gas stops, found a doohickey that will finally let me have carbonated sugar water on my long rides.

clever design, I like it. Now you need to get a cupholder like jiggles.

did you make it yourself by taking a typical speed controlling pouring tool that you would find at any bar and putting a straw through it and then melting the plastic to make the connection more stable? or did you just buy it

Just bought it. I am unfamiliar with bartender tools and figured i wasn't crafty enough to make something.

And my new tank panniers have a bottle holder on the outside so i have a place to store it in between stops.

You may be a Stormtrooper, but there is only one Master Chief of sweg. Bow down.

Dainese D6 Kevlar jeans. Just a tad over 150$, but they feature Kevlar throughout the jeans and not just the knee as most others.
Fit pretty comfy after you brake them in.

I don't have the biggest tree trunks but these just do not fit good at all.

Does anyone have any good riding pants to recommend for me that are ~ $150, not specifically skin tight and have just a little room in them, like a pair of levis do?

I'm thinking about getting some motocross pants, more protective than riding jeans right?

Bought a 'Trackside' rear paddock stand for my bike from my local Cycle Gear store today. Works awesome and very well built. Used it to hold the bike up while cleaning and lubing it. I bought spools but only used it today with the flat swing arm supports.

Also at Cycle gear... (does this sh** seriously work?):

Yeah I've bought some riding jeans since. Do the Dainese jeans fit tight? I know most things from Dianese and European stuff in general runs smaller than US Sizes.

They fit a bit tight, bot not too bad. They also seem to brake in after a week or so.
I ended up going one size up (from 34 to 35) to get a bit more room in hips when I sit on the bike.
The quality of material though seems to be very good comparing to others I have seen...

Got a cycle gear anywhere close? Go try them on, that's the one way to really know, when you try them on it should fit a little tight (it breaks in and loosens up) you can check the sizing link thingies on the websites, but I rarely trust them to much. I like to try my stuff on first. Find a racer or track day person around your size, ask them their size, and start their... I started with chones size, guess what that's what size suit fits me ( we are kinda close in size )
I wear mine on the street if I'm doing much more than a ride to the store. Its much better protection, and it can't separate like pants an a jacket can. I feel a lot safer in my suit riding, and if anything were to happen I'm pretty sure I would be better of with this level of protection. You're also ready to throw it in the truck with your gear when your ready for a track day

unfortunately afaik you can't find the suit anywhere anymore. Eventually someone should step up to the plate with a similar product but there's no guarantee of that. A cool design like that in a dianese or A* suit would get my money for sure down the line if they ever make it.

My only worries are finances, exams, and getting my 250 track ready by July. Luckily I'm working on all three of them I'll be done with exams before the deals gap meet and I should be starting a new job in a position of higher potential earnings this June. That and I have the parts that I need for the bike, I just need large blocks of time.

Sadly it was over $300, ouch! Hurts my pockets quite a bit right now. Still got to drop another $300 on a frame and maybe $300 on forks? :''( haha

yea, it's pretty cool. The fit is why I'm buying it though, it fits my head better than any other helmet. The Arai I tried on was a close second with scorpion in 3rd. Shoei, agv, hjc, bell, schuberth don't feel quite right on my head for some reason. At least not the ones that I tried on. Didn't get the chance to try on a shark helmet though.

Not to mention it's almost half the price of my late scorpion exo1100 I felt the bank acct hit but it wasn't nearly as draining as a direct replacement would have been.

I own an HJC since it was the cheapest helmet I could find when I started out, the visor lock broke so I got my scorpion. I wore the HJC through a crash but the helmet never made contact with anything so it's still good other than the annoying visor popping off if you lift it up all the way.

The HJC is the wrong shape for my head though. It puts pressure on my forehead and the back of my head since it isn't a big enough front-back oval. The Icon is exactly the right shape, same as the Arai. The scorpion isn't quite 100% my head but it's such a comfortable lid to the point where it's acceptable.

^You should've waited for Bell hehe. Though don't know how long it'll take for them to set this to the public. It sounds amazing.

I'm not waiting more than a week to get back on my bike.

also I wanted to get this black chantilly graphic but they were sold out, for obvious reasons

then I almost got this but the ravenous won the coin flip

also that bell helmet thing won't really take effect until way down the line.

If you're going with Icon you should have gotten a Variant! Although the downside is it's really pricey. Dunno if they use the same head shape through out different helmets in the same brand or not.
