Hello from Oahu
Name is Chris, 42, am new to motorcycling, but not to cycling. I used to ride road bikes (bicycles) years ago, and believe it or not, some skills does cross over. I have a '08 Ninja 250, in the shop right now getting front wheel bearings replaced, got licensed last week and took the MSF course 2 weeks before that. I, like kkim, am located in Hawaii, but on Oahu instead of Kauai. I am in the Army, 20 yrs last month and will be retiring soon. Married 17 yrs, have 1 daughter, 16, and I currently looking for a job that will allow me and my family to stay in Hawaii at least till the little lady graduates from HS and gets started in College. I am also on the Kawiforum and Kawasakiforum as the same name. So you may see me posting there also.
As a side note, I got started in this as a way to save money on gas, and to get ready for my mid life crisis, which I am sure is around the corner somewhere. Later nb. And if anybody notices that I have posted this as a reply to kkim's post, you're right I did, I was just too lazy to retype it and post it here. |

Chris! That's one way to get your post count up there quickly! Congrats on your upcoming retirement, and I hope you have some free time for riding before you end up back in the rat race.

Aloha, Chris.
We need to start lobbying the Super Ferry to start Kauai service. Once they do, make plans to come over with the bike for a nice cruise on kauai. I'll show you some great twisties here. And if I get the energy and time, I'll ship my bike back there for a cruise with you oahu guys. I used to live there for the first 26 years of my life and have been back and forth visiting since. Can't say I enjoy seeing what has become of that island. What specialty are you in ??? maybe I can help point you in a certain direction when separation time comes. Mid life crisis??? no such thing... you are young forever. good to see you here. |
