Spot the Ninja 250 - Movie / TV Edition

I was watching TV yesterday and caught a 250 in one of my shows. So I thought I would post up and see if anyone else can spot a 250 (or just a ninja if we cant name alot) in any movies or shows.

The Shield - Season 4 Episode: Riceburner. The drug dealer (Freebo) is riding a yellow Pregen Ninja 250 with a fender eliminator. You can see the back of it when he gets arrested by Vic and Lem. The funny part is throughout the episode everyone says he rides a "loud ass" riceburner. * I'll try to get a screenshot of it.

The New Ben 10 Movie - Was watching my neighbors kids and saw 2 2008+ Ninja 250s in the commerical for the movie.

----

Terminator 2 - When John gets parks his bike at the mall, he parks it next to a Ninja 500 (red - i believe)

Any others?

True Lies - In the chase scene in the city when Arnold is on horseback, the guy he is chasing is on a Ninja 500. And the way it sounded in the movie it did NOT sound stock lol.

Dark Angel - Apparently Jessica Alba couldn't handle a full tilt zzr600, so the bike they used in the show was a modified zzr250.

The almighty Jessica Alba used to ride a ninja 250. And that right there is why the pregen > new gen (j/k...sorta)

That would only hold up if you had the actual pregen Jessica Alba rode

Not a movie or tv show, but Modern Warfare 2. The first Brazil level is littered with very Kawi-centric bikes. I blew a perfect level when I saw it.

Kill Bill.

The bike ridden by Uma Thurman was a yellow Ninja ZZR250 (like mine).

It is the second one in the movie. ... Remember when Tom Arnold was at Schwarzenegger's home and his daughter's boyfriend came with a green Kawi?

Ooooh, I forgot about that one. Now is that a 250 or a 750? I ask because they both had the same look at one time and the 750 would be the most logical since the ZX-2R never made it to the States.

I watched Kill Bill last week and I kept saying to myself that her bike looked like a pregen 250. That's what I'm talking about.

I just know that it was the first Ninja, the fastest production bike in the world at the time, and he "rode" it with no gear. A GPZ-900R. Oh, and there's a reason I said "rode" with quotes...

Look at the tie-down straps holding the bike to the trailer.

That scene is hotly debated because his fist was chopped off in the original theatrical aspect ratio but was visible in the expanded 4:3 version (they didn't just pan and scan within the wider frame to make the academy aspect home video/TV versions). When they released it on HD-DVD, people said that it was a framing error like the Pirates of the Caribbean Blu-Ray, but it wasn't. It touched off an argument between purists and others aboutwhic was more "correct." I wonder if anyone arguing about the "vidible fist" version noticed that it "broke" something else by revealing the tie-down straps? I only know because someone on Kawiforums noticed it.

Anyone notice how similar the mirrors look to the current-gen?

That is a 1985 model. In 1984 the ZX900 was only available in Red/Grey. I know because the 1984 model was the my first motorcycle I ever bought brand NEW. Yup, I was cool before Tom Cruise!

I just figure that he was "shifting" (also in quotes )... after all, he was notoriously pumping that hand in a fist a moment later, which was supposedly improvisation.

My theory? He was bored, thus, over-acting, and all because he wasn't *really* riding. That's why the framing cut it off in the original theatrical aspect ratio... they weren't expecting it.

Ninjette spotted on TV!

The new Canadian series "Republic of Doyle" just started back up for the second season S02E01 was aired Wednesday and a chick takes off on a ninjette in it!

Knew it was a Ninjette right away, they showed a shot of the exhaust - pretty unique

Lousy episode compared to last season, but there's a motorbike!

(If someone else posted this already I apologize)

Maybe he can't ride a bike but he owns and flys a North American P-51 Mustang fighter aircraft. After that a 900R should be a piece of cake. No, I'm not a fan of Tom's.

Pretty sure he has quite a few bikes, including a Ducati Desmosedici RR.

Just a lot easier to photograph the scene with the camera and cycle mounted on the same trailer.

I think it was one of the Mission Impossible movies he did his own motorcycle riding, at least part of it. I'm not a fan of his, either, but he does choose fun movies.

And yes, I'm sure ease of filming is why the bike's on a trailer. Much easier to control things that way. (Also, is he holding the clutch in?)

Walker Texas Ranger, season 4 episode 10: “Cyclone”

Link to original page on YouTube.

Not sure why they needed to crash the bike in order stop the bus when they already had a truck stopped in front of it. Seems something could’ve gone needlessly wrong for the bad guys but that was barely scratching the surface for the stupid stuff in this episode.

Anyway, it’s definitely a EX250F and appears to have a 2 into 1 aftermarket exhaust… though it sounds bone stock to me. Maybe there just aren’t enough pixels to see the other pipe. Yes, it actually sounds like a real two cylinder Ninja 250 instead of a Harley or supersport. If it does have a 2 into 1 exhaust I’m going to guess “Kerker” since it is missing the lower fairing.

This one has a bit more pixels but it’s someone’s janky edit of the full episode meant to fool copyright auto detection:

"Spot the bike" is one time I love our TiVo- pause it, get a *good* look at it, see if we can pick out the model. Fun game.

For others who also haven't seen Top Gun in 20+ years, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2eoBWZp64s has the runway clip right at the beginning. He's not holding the clutch in the whole time, he just pulls it momentarily, as if he's shifting (though it seems a bit exaggerated). Also, when he sits up and does the fist pump thing, you can actually see the far side of the trailer between his body and the tank. That seems to match up with the idea that it was an unexpected improvisation.

I haven't seen it, but apparently he's upgraded to the H2 for this year's Top Gun: Maverick. https://www.autoweek.com/car-life/cl...n-new-top-gun/

Yep, but his old GPZ900R and military jacket also make appearances. It’s kinda funny that they act like he was customizing his bike and jacket with all these stickers and patches then just… stopped… preserving it exactly like it was in the ‘80s.

And he may have done his own riding, at least on some of it. No helmet, zoomed out camera so you can see the pavement under the bike as well as his face. Enjoyed the new Top Gun movie.

It’s got some real cornball moments tossed in there but I loved it!
