Rebuilding the petcock and have a question.
Ok so I noticed I was leaking gas and found it leaking at the white plastic spacer so I decided to just rebuild the whole thing. But upon dis-assembly I found I have no idea how the diaphragm comes apart from the spacer. I found the k and s repair kit on dennis kirk and was wondering when I get it how do I go about rebuilding the diaphragm? thanks in advance

The diaphragm is a very thin, most likely it's stuck to the plate, is this the kit your referring to,
K&S Technologies Fuel Petcock Repair Kit 55-2009 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00M9N04PW..._dxngvb1HK5CS3 if you have some pictures that might help. Also try this as well, http://faq.ninja250.org/wiki/Rebuild...tcock/fuel_tap I'm not familiar with the NewGen petcock, but it should be similar to PreGen. Hope this helps.

https://www.denniskirk.com/fuel-petc...prd/187589.sku that is the kit im referring to even though I found it cheaper on ebay but its alot like the pregen. I just am not sure how to put the diaphragm back together. Also I looked at that link and it doesnt really clearly show how to rebuild the diaphragm.

The diaphragm is just stuck to the spacer, it will peel off. Can you maybe post some pictures of what your concerned about?

I am concerned about how to get the two pieces of the diaphragm around the spacer.

The diaphragm lays on top of the spacer, doesn't wrap around.

This is what it looks like and im not sure if the rubber is supposed to separate from the metal part in the middle or if you just push it through the hole and then put it back through there. That is what my main question is.

Maybe your situation is different from mine. I had gas dripping from the petcock. Before purchasing the rebuild kit, I stretched the spring just a bit and put everything back together. It stopped dripping.

Ya I thought about trying that but the bike sat for a year and a half before I purchased it so I figured it was worth the 28 bucks to just rebuild it.

Well good news I got my parts in today and after comparing the springs it was most likely my spring. But now I dont have any leaks and can get back to riding.
