Shopping for parts for when I get the money.
I have choices:

Two Brothers Exhaust and/or pod filters with jets, of course.
Two Brothers Exhaust and jets.
Pod filters and jets.
I'm thinking of making my own 2:1 exhaust system, too. Maybe from a Cobra F1s or Holeshot from a Concours? I can weld, bend and I actually know my way around a bike more than your typical under 20 year old...
Paint, I want a variation of Eddie Lawson's paint scheme.
Those are my goals for my bike, and I plan on having it for a very, very long while, so why not farkle the balls off of it? Hmmmmm?

What do you guys think of Muzzy's exhaust on a EX 250? I hear about them getting a lot of crap...

I was in 2nd and i should add that these are "speedo" speeds...prob off 3-4mph @ 50.
My pal has a BMW and he's going with me tiomorrow night and I'll let her out and see what we can see vs his speedo

Just got done installing the KOSO speedometer gauge yesterday. It seems to work pretty well, but I need to find time to go test it. It's raining all week this week too

Installed Vortex links from a 98 Gixxer 750 on my '09! Awsome adjustability from around -1/2", to +1", and +1 3/4".. Great alternative to the Busa links for those looking to RAISE the rear for the track or twisties, and they look great too! Also intalled the Yoshi rearset adjusters...

Washed her, cleaned the chain (WD-40), then dried it and lubed it (Cyclo moly/graphite industrial chain lube). Pulled the fairings to see how easy it would be to install an Area P full exhaust. Inspected carburator to see how easy jetting change would be. I'm very close to pulling the trigger on the Area P . . .

Do it! It takes all of three minutes to install, and you'll be amazed at the weight difference when you take off the old one. Plus it looks very nice and sounds even better.

This weekend:
I checked my valves.
Cleaned the engine's outside.
Washed the bike.
Cleaned the rims, swing arm and chain.
Lubed the chain.
Knocked the plastic insert out from under the taillight for my license plate (the led burned out...).
Fixed the wiring for the turn signals I inherited from the previous owner.

Played pretend while the bike was on it's center-stand because I was grounded.

Taller windshield - what a difference...WOW!

Riding at 70mph and turning my head to look at the scenery, was like a rudder on a boat. Felt like my head would rip off. Bought/installed (easy) taller windshield and WOW!, what a difference. Makes riding at higher speeds much, much more enjoyable. Of course, I'm older than most in this forum so this info. is for you people who are built for comfort - not speed. Although, if I'm comfortable, I can go faster - Wooohooo!

I learned that one on the back of an ST1300 with my dad while we were doing about 80 while riding back from the COG National in Canaan Valley, 2007.
I heard that a guy broke his neck doing that. I will turn my head, but not too rapidly. I have a pretty good sized neck so I can keep my head on my shoulders, which is always a good thing.

Also, NEVER LOOK STRAIGHT UP, if my chin strap hadn't of been on (but it always is), one of my helmets would be in a lake right now. That was terrifying.

I have been wanting to get rid of the reflectors on my bike. Where did you get the hex fasteners? Are they the OEM Kawasaki ones or did you get them from a hardware store?

switch them out for the hex fasteners under your passenger seat.

Good idea KKim! I don't know why I didn't think about that! I wanted to keep OEM fasteners for the look, and was wondering! Thanks..

Yup, I used the spare hex nuts under the passenger seat (that hold on the rear fender). Just swap them out and it looks nice and stock.

Tall Windshield information

I am 5'7". I looked for some time to find a taller windshield for 2010 Ninja 250r with no luck - then I was visiting the dealership and saw a used 09 ninja with a tall windshield and asked the parts guy - could you find this height or kind of shield for me. It had the name on it - Zero Gravity, but was still hard to find. He dug and dug and finally found it.

I was going to paste the Zero Gravity link, but couldn't find this shield on their site, so I called the dealership to get the part # I ordered 3 months ago and then googled that part # which gave me a catalog screen of Zero Gravity with no pictures.

It is a: Zero Gravity, part #2301-1280.........$89 (Don't remember it being that high at the dealership)

http://www.rvsports.com/Zero-Gravity...ductId=7848470

It's hard for me to order anything without a picture, so I went outside to take a picture of mine, then put it on photoshop to show where the old screen was because the pictures make the shield look huge, but its not. It's just 4-5" taller and swoops out at the top so wind doesn't pour over the top. It doesn't eliminate all the wind but makes it much easier to turn my head at high speeds.

Hope this helps

My Ninja 250 came with Two-Bros. slip-ons, previous owner had them installed without jetting/air filter mod, start/runs just fine, but it's LOUD!
Comapred to my previous bone stock 05 Ninja 250.

I doubt the 2-into-1 Muzzy would provide much better flow than OEM exhaust. With jetting mod, you're likely to loose one end of the performance to gain 2-5% at the most. IMO, not worth while for the $$$.
If you want a set of Two-Bros. slip-ons, I can sell you mine, cheap, when I get a set of chrome OEM mufflers.

I don't really have any money right now, I should in June when I can work... I'm sure you'll have them sold by then.
How much would you be selling them for? I could just buy the headers from somewhere else later in the summer.
Thanks for the offer though! I'm definitely interested if you get the stock pipes at the right time.

Wife and I did a couple of mods to her 250...

Clear ProGrip tank pad

ProGrip 719 Gel Grips

15/42 gearing, one ride on mine with this setup and she couldn't stand the stock gearing

All done

Time to order the windscreen and bar risers (or shes going to steal em off my 250, LOL).

Looking good James! I'm probably going to pick up that same tank pad, I saw it over at the Kawi dealer for about $17.

Today I just warmed up the bike a bit and put some stabil in the tank (since it doesn't look like it'll be warm enough to ride in the next few weeks. I'm also currently painting my helmet...

Thanks, your 250 is looking good too!

Yeh, the clear tank pad turned out pretty well, I was thinking black but we went with clear and glad we did.

Also, I decided to go another route with the GPS setup on my 250. I wanted something different that is water resistant. I have everything except the M10 post ball mount for the Ram Mount but should have that next week then I'm good to go. I have the generic bar mount but would rather have it threaded than clamped on... either is probably fine I guess.
