Pod air filter vs drilled airbox ???
Looking for the best performance out of my 250 FI, Leo Vince recommends drilling 2 50mm holes on the airbox, but what works best pods or drilled airbox?
Also, can I even install a pod filter on a 250 FI |

I would imagine pods but I have no experience with drilling the airbox. It seems like a drilled airbox would yield less airflow than pods so idk. Is it a full leo vince system? And yes you should be able to put pods on the FI

Cool, I found your thread that asked the same:
http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=101440 What did you do with the sensors? Do you have any pictures to help me mod mine? Did you installed the pod straight to the throttle body? It looks like the runners are attached or part of the airbox Thanks |

I don't know about the FI bikes. But I would say for street riding, drilling the air box is a good thing. I would also remove the fire screen from inside the air box. That makes it easyer to remove. The snorkel can also be removed.

The only vent from the crank case is the hose nipple that comes up from the block under the air box. Most people just put a small filter on it. If you run a full system you need to block off the top of the valve cover.

On my pregen, I ran a full exhaust and an airbox that was cut open. It ran really well with one size larger main jets. It was still reliable, but had a little throatier sound, and was a little more responsive. I imagine that a full exhaust, opened airbox, and a high-flowing drop-in filter would pull and respond quite nicely.

I found on the dyno that the 0990 or pod filters kept some torque. I run wide open velocity stacks with no air filter. I is worth almost 1 hp but gives up some torque. A well desined air box should have better midrange.
