Saw a 2008 today...

I passed one in traffic this afternoon, and it looked great. It was black, and looked like something from a Batman flick. I am tempted... but I really don't need two Ninja 250s...

Here's a link to a post on a local forum with some pictures of a shiny black '08.

If I still had our Gen-1 ninjette, and knew what I know now about the Gen-2 ninjette, I wouldn't be in a rush to upgrade. There are some improvements, and most people feel that its appearance has been improved, but the riding experience alone is very, very, similar.

I got a good, up close look at a red one today in the parking lot of Metro Cycles. Really, really looks good. My wife thinks it looks too futuristic. I kind of think that's the point though, and they nailed it. I am in no hurry to replace my 03, and if I got another bike I'd probably keep the one I have. I think the old model is probably more useful in terms of carrying stuff on the rear seat etc. Thing is, they're so affordable, it wouldn't really be 'extravagant' to have both.

I had the choice between the classic and new 250. I chose to grab the classic, and I am glad that I did! I feel that it is more well-rounded, even though it has the 80's look. I don't know if I will ever find another bike that I feel "one with the road" riding.

Awesome! If it works for you don't let anyone talk down to you on your decision!

The older revision is also faster than the newer ones! Have fun spankin' new gens!

well, his might be faster than yours (being blue and all), but not mine... mine is green and we all know the green ones are the fastest.

You starting that "green is faster" stuff again?!! Maybe green is faster, but black is where it's at in the looks department. I'm a huge Batman fan and I get the "batcycle" comments all the time about my black bike from everyone that knows me. I have to admit though, that after owning a Kawasaki for a while Kawi Green is actually starting to grow on me. It's a pretty unique shade and it helps that every piece of aftermarket apparel made by Kawasaki seems to be available in that color. If they ever go back to solid Kawi Green on the Ninja again, I might have to think about getting a second bike.
