If you're like me and have long arms then no, it's not "EXACTLY" alright that the armor in the arms are not in their respective places to protect you. It can be the same result for riders with short arms. If the padding doesn't cover your elbow then it's not gunna do you much good in the event of an accident. I mean, riding jackets normally have longer arm sleeves by design so something must compensate. Custom sizing or alterations to move the armor.

Jackets should be tight when worn, so are you 100% sure you got a proper size? For me, new gear feels somewhat uncomfortably tight until broken in a little. So if you buy a jacket that fits perfectly out of the box, the armor may not be in the proper places. From there you have a few choices;

Get a different size
Alter the jacket to have the armor moved to more appropriate locations
Wear additional under/over armor to compensate

Can you post a pic of you wearing the jacket so we can see fitment?

The size is XL. I tried a large and I could not zip up the front. The shoulder part felt like I was going to tear it apart if I tried to bring my arms forward across my chest. Maybe Im just fat! Im 5'7 , 220lbs. Definitely will post pics up with jacket on. Oh, can the jacket be altered by someone? I didn't think it could be altered.

Well, lets start with a pic and ensuring you have a the proper size jacket first. If your not partial to ICON, you could also try Joe Rocket gear. They seem to be cut larger in the torso area to allow for a better fit.

Shaq O'Neal don't wear a standard sized jacket but altering the jacket should be a last resort and is normally reserved for expensive leathers. You know, spending $300 to alter a $100 piece of gear. Besides, if not done by someone who knows what they are doing, it can weaken the protective qualities.

Front and side view. I sent the jacket back to exchange for a large rather than the XL.

Yea, that is looking a bit large for you in all areas. Hopefully a Large will be better fitting.

I have the same problem too... I'm 5'8" @ 155lbs, lean built... Just bought an icon merc jacket in medium... I hope it fits... I know the small one I tried earlier was too small at the sleeves and the large one I saw in the reviews was on a guy about 3" and 50lbs more than me...

How are you lean, if you weigh 155, and have a height of 5'8"? Are you really muscular?

Hahaha... I'm slightly muscular, not overly buff... Been working out for a bit more than a year now... Unfortunately I haven't that much to show for it...

I definitely could...I just don't want it to be fat I bet if I started doing push ups more often instead of bikeing, I could see an improvement in my upper body

The pushup have to do with it. Because, if I had a larger chest size, I could have a larger selection of jackets.

Not that new Justin, I just don't post often, I really enjoy this one though, and i get a kick out of young Nick, I think you were ribbing him about changing the topic of other peoples threads recently and I was just teasing about that. Damn I hope I didn't sound nasty with my post, so sorry Nick if you took it that way.
