ShoGun frame sliders for New Gen

Gotta find me some - they've saved Tinkerbell plenty of times, now I gotta protect Frankenbike, too.

If you know where I can find some for less than the $150 that is all over the interweb, please share!

I know a lot of people have frame sliders, and in low speed/not moving crashes they are very helpful.

HOWEVER

I personally would recommend not buying them. Why?

1. Most of them require you to cut your fairings
2. Super dangerous in any high speed crash. They can cause your low side sliding bike to turn into a devilish monster flipping everywhere.

There is a thread on the wiki? I'll look for it, so if I find it, I'll just edit my post!

Already saved my ass (and my bike) half a dozen times - one accident, a few "lay-downs" teaching people how to ride, tripping while wheeling it somewhere, etc etc

You concern is appreciated, though, thanks! (honestly not being a sarcastic douche, LOL) And the ShoGun's are no-cut.

Thanks guys, I'll check out those links. Might still hold out for something cheaper though since my last set was 100 shipped.

Mhmm fair enough. Seems like they have worked for you! Ahh, I must have been mistaken!

Just another FYI there have also been reports of frame sliders damaging the frame. Although, i'm sure you would have noticed if that was happening. :thumb up:

Nah, I'm quite sure you're not mistaken - just saying that they are worth it to me to have them on there. And yeah I check the bike every time it hits the ground and it's alright - I take it to my buddy's shop here in OC and he always gives me the thumbs up after we take it apart and look it over. It's only ever hit the ground HARD once - the rest were gentle, controlled lay-downs.

Thanks again!

Checking is always important

Ride on my friend.

PS: have you found any sliders at your price point yet?

Nah, but I also haven't been very diligent about checking - I *DID* however find a front fender, headlight, cowl, mirrors, gauge cluster and gauge surround ALL on eBay from the same seller. After shipping for all that, it came out just shy of $300 for everything - EFFING SCORE. So money for frame sliders is short now, but I've still got time.
